Daryl is amazing! There is a lot of homework, but its manageable, and he pushed them back a few times. His lectures are awesome too, which is why I think I loved him so much, he made it easy to understand.
Would have loved this class a lot more in person, online lectures were sometimes hard to keep up with. Got stuck with a bad TA so the section was kind of useless, but groupmates were helpful when help was needed so it didn't matter. Made math easy to understand and the class is well-paced
I've hated math my whole life before this class. Daryl laid it out in a way that was super easy to understand and I actually found myself enjoying it. He does his best to make class engaging and makes a lot of jokes. I really recommend his course over any other math class at UCSB. The book isn't necessary but it helps a lot with homework.
Funny professor and loved his analogies of puppies and dogs. I can sit through his online lectures without getting bored or spaced out. Loved the interesting optional videos he posted. I suck at math but he explains it well enough for me!
This class has a lot of homework (unlimited attempts) but it is all doable. Daryl is a great professor and is understanding when it comes to real-life issues. He has been sympathetic to the Covid-19 situation and wants you to succeed. Definitely take him if you want to have the flexibility and do well!! Really caring professor.
Took Daryl for 34A and he has been suoper understanding and accomindating with everything online. There's a lot of homeowk but its doable if you stay on top of it. Sow up to your TA sections and watch his lecturews to get points. Great prof and I'm taking him again for 34B
nice guy, but weve had nine assignments and zero grades going into finals week. absurd.
Make sure to do all the HW and attend online section and if you do decently on the midterms and finals I think you can get a good grade since the class is curved?
Professor Cooper is amazing! I would definitely recommend taking his class.
Daryl is the absolute goat. He is an extremely knowledgeable guy with a funny sense of humor. He is also very accommodating so if you need anything don't be afraid to talk to him. He really wants all his students to succeed!
Great professor and really was considerate with issues of being online. He has videos of hints for homework if you're stuck. Lectures can be a little unclear, but doable. Overall, would take this prof again for math 34A.
Although I wouldn't say I'm the best at Math, Daryl gives a really good vibe and he is an understanding person. His lectures will reflect that and unlike some professors he has a personality. There is a good amount of hw though he provides a lot pf resources to help you succeed and I'd recommend taking his classes.
Super fun guy just to get to know, class is not so bad if you manage your time right. He definitely sets each student up for success, all homework was done through a third party website with unlimited tries.
I loved taking Math 34A with Dr. Cooper. He is really funny and gives incredible lectures where he explains concepts very clearly. There is a lot of homework and you are required to meet with your study groups weekly, but it isnt too bad. Do all the homework, study for the midterms, and you will get an A. I am excited to take 34B next quarter!
Daryl was lovely! He really tried to make the lectures enjoyable and easy to digest, and the example problems in them are really helpful. The homework problems are kinda tricky sometimes but you definitely get used to how he asks questions, which also makes the midterms easier. He's very kind and understanding, definitely recommend him!
Daryl is really nice and cares a lot about his students. He moved dates of homeworks and even some midterms because students asked. He tries really hard to make math class enjoyable.
D.A.R.Y.L., was a gem! He tries to make lectures fun and funny. Midterms were decent, need to study for them to get a decent grade. 10/10 would take him again.
I struggle with math so taking this course came with anxiety but Daryl is an amazing professor-the class was very managable! He is super understanding of current events and how it affects students. He uploads hw hint videos which guide you through the hw and even practice midterms that follow the same format of the midterm, which is so helpful!
Professor Cooper is super understanding and funny! I honestly wish I could have taken this class in person. I did well on all the midterms and didn't watch any lectures, but I would recommend going to CLAS because it's super helpful.
PROFESSOR COOPER IS THE BEST PROFESSOR ON CAMPUS! He is flexible, which is especially necessary due to the pandemic. His lectures are easy to follow along with and make me feel like I am at school in real time! He is hilarious! If you are struggling with anything with the course or in general, he is there for you. Section was split up with groups.
The freshman seminar is super chill, just show up to the Zooms (no cameras/participation required) and you'll get your 1 unit. He's very nice to listen to!
Daryl is great! His lectures are easy to follow along with, and he makes a lot of jokes and fun mnemonics that make the information easy to retain and apply! He does encourage a lot of group work, so if you are a bit more of an introvert you may not enjoy that.
This class is so easy for a calculus class, our second midterm literally had slope problems on it which you learn in like 9th grade. He gives lots of bonus points on midterms, and you can tell he cares about his students. We were supposed to have a test during election week but he pushed it back another week for us.
