If you are looking to take the MATH 34 series at UCSB, Professor Cooper should be the one you aim to take it with, given he is the author of the material. He is great at explaining basic concepts and makes it actually enjoyable. His homework hints are great! I had failed this class with another instructor and got an A+ with Professor Cooper.

Presents information clearly and keeps students engaged with his humor. I see people commenting on the workload, but if you space it out you should be fine. If you took calculus in high school, this course should be fairly easyif not, don't freak out, pay attention during lectures, and follow his tips (they really do help!)

DARYL is a great professor, although you have homework three times a week it is super doable, his lectures do help probably more than the textbook for me! He is super considerate of doing math online and the difficulty of learning from home and I appreciated it greatly! I am taking him for 34B and look forward to it! Only problem was final is 50%.

Absolutely loved the class! He's such an amazing professor and teaches the material so well. He has a great sense of humor which makes the material just a bit easier. Math isn't my strong suit but he made me believe that I could do it even though I couldn't. I don't think I passed the final but he sure passed as a professor; 5/5!

I really enjoyed this class! math is not really my thing but Daryl makes it easy and really walks you through the thinking behind problem solving. Hes also very understanding about deadlines and although theres a lot of homework its all very useful and practical. Hes also fairly accessible and cares about his students.

Daryl Cooper, what a man. He makes math really easy to learn. He was very accommodating with homework assignments and midterm deadlines. He does assign a lot of homework but its pretty easy to stay on top of. His humor kept me awake while watching his lectures.

Math34A with Cooper was great. There's homework every week, but it's doable! The midterms also shouldn't be too hard if you really study. Also, bless Daryl for always extending deadlines. Life saver !!

Daryl is a great professor. His lectures are easy to understand and he does his best to be understanding of your time. He is really helpful if you reach out to him and he even offers practice midterms and a practice final so you won't feel completely lost. However, do not take this course online if you have never taken Calculus before :(

Professor Cooper is super funny in his lectures, and is very clear about what you need to do in order to pass the class. Im waitlisted for his class next quarter and really hope I can take it.

Super understanding and nice! There are a lot of lectures and homework assignments but they are very manageable if you organize your time well. I found the final to be pretty difficult and it is worth 50% of your grade which is stressful but other than that the class was very enjoyable and low stress.

Daryl is the most wholesome teacher I've ever had. I would recommend just paying attention to how he does things, he's really specific about showing work and writes his word problems weird so it's best to try to understand how HE interprets them. tests are like practice tests but I found 2020 exams to be on the tougher side especially the final.

this class was unbelievably easy until the final which was worth 50% of my grade. half of the questions were worded so ambiguously that i couldnt understand what they were even asking for. the material of the course is very easy, but the questions he writes are so frustrating that i'd rather die than take this class again, for the final alone.

I LOVED watching DARYL's lectures. His lectures were so entertaining and they were full of jokes which brightened up my day for sure. He made things easy to understand, so I didn't struggle too much in this class. He's also very lenient when it comes to homework and he seems to care a lot about the mental health of his students.

Daryl's online course this quarter was great, and his lectures were pretty entertaining and super helpful. As long as you do the homework and watch the lectures you should be fine. I had a really hard time with his exams, but CLAS helped prepare me. My group also really helped as a support system. Not an easy A, but definitely an attainable A!

Daryl cares about teaching, and he cares about his students. He's flexible with deadlines and will push back due dates according to students' requests. DO PRACTICE EXAMS AND WATCH THE LECTURES! He provides all the materials you need to succeed! I'm not a math person (like, at all), and this was still one of my favorite classes this quarter.

Cooper is an amazing professor! I took this as one of my first classes at UCSB in an online format, but was still able to learn a ton. Daryl is extremely understanding and the class was fairly easy. Graded off of weekly homework, 3 midterms, and a final. I really really enjoyed this class. Highly recommend Cooper for your math classes if possible!!

Daryl is a genuine professor who cares very much about your academics and knowledge. The material is very simple coming from someone who had to drop out of AP calculus in high school. The tests are very similar to the practice test and lectures that he gives. I very much recommend him, as it's an easy A and isn't very difficult.

Homework is super good prep for them tests, class is basically a review of grade school math + a tiny bit more stuff in the calc zone. Don't sleep on the textbook reading assignments cause they really do help to prep for the material you're gonna learn. A real gem of a teacher, actually made math not as cancerous to learn as it usually is for me.

his tests were all very fair, and since it was online, he gave over 24 hours to submit each exam which was really nice of him. he gave extensions for homework regularly and was overall really sweet. his lectures felt like they went on forever, but that may be because the entire course was review from high school for me.

Gives homework for every lecture given, which is about 3 times a week. If on top of your game, this should be easy because the homework is not difficult to complete. Watching lectures and attending discussion sections will bring you great success in this class.

He makes a lot of dad jokes and wears cool shirts. I didn't really get what he was talking about in some of the lectures, but it was easier enough to follow along with the homework and get a good grade. He definitely tries to help us out and gives extensions on homework.

Professor Cooper explains concepts in a way that makes them sound easy. He has examples/explanations for everything you need to know, so there's no surprises. During online classes, he allows for a 3 day window to take any tests which is really helpful.
