He is a good teacher.

I have never taken a calc class in my life, therefore this class was really difficult for me. Didn't buy the book, it was not needed. Didn't understand the professor when he is talking at all, may be because he assumes everyone has already taken calc, but no. Cooper is an evil professor, with his midterms on mondays & pointless lectures. TAKE 3A

Great Professor! He is quirky and funny and keeps lectures exciting with joke breaks..if they can be considered jokes. He is a funny guy and wants you to succeed. Sign up for CLAS as well and you're golden.

Very interesting and funny guy. I'm not the best at math but if you attend lecture and CLAS it really isn't too difficult.

This is the best math teacher I have ever had! This class is super easy if you have taken calc in high school. I got a 2 on the ap calc test and I have gotten perfect scores in this class. Daryl is great and really funny. 10/10 recommend his class. Plus he loves Doctor Who which is a major plus

Great professor. He engages the class in a very welcoming manner. He stays outside after class if a student has a question. He keeps your attention, so don't bother taking out your phone. And some of the comments below say his instruction skills aren't all that great, but he does in fact go step by step - you just need to pay attention.

Cooper is an amazing professor and helps out tremendously especially if you aren't the strongest in math. TAKE THIS CLASS!!! It is hands down superior to the math 3A-3B series. Tests are extremely fair and he even raises your grade to a B if you have a C- or above.

Fairly easy class. I have actually learned a lot of tips/tricks from this class. Professor Cooper tries really hard to make this class fun and I really appreciate that.

Very funny and energetic guy. Definitely made class interesting to go to. His exams are tough because he has some very wordy questions and if you do not pay attention to each specific word you'll get the question wrong. I suggest everyone go to Clas drop in. Also read the last chapter in the book on study tips.

Cooper explains things very clear, but there is not much opportunity to ask for help. The textbook is worthless. If you have taken calculus before this class, it should be pretty easy.

Cooper is a very good professor! I pretty much only enjoyed going to lecture because of him. 34A is a pretty easy class if you put in effort.

Cooper keeps class very interesting and has powerpoint lectures and posts it online after class. Iclicker makes attendance mandatory. Honestly, if you attend all sections and lectures,he will give you an effort point and a B. Do the practice tests and you will do well on the midterms. He really wants to see you do well and he is very approachable.

He made the class accessible to students who have only done pre-calc courses, if i had trouble i would go to my TA who was very helpful. He is a very good professor and I would recommend this class for pre-biopysch majors like myself.

Cooper's class is VERY simple if you have taken any sort of calculus before. However, if you ever have any specific questions, do not go to him - he does not offer any help, and is sometimes very rude about it. I enjoyed him until I realized this fact, and his rudeness ruined the class for me.

Take the Math 34 series with Daryl!! You will not regret it! He is a goofy guy who wants students to succeed! He always gives practice exams which are very helpful for the actual midterms. attendance is mandatory because of iclickers.

DARYL is hands down, the best math teacher I have ever had. I am not particularly good at math, yet I was excited to watch him lecture every day. His accent is great, and he is very energetic. I struggled but still ended up with a B in both 34a and 34b.

Bad professor. Yes he is intelligent and has done some good research, but he is not good at TEACHING. Lecture slides have stupid abbreviations and for examples not all steps are shown. He wrote the book which lacks adequate examples.The book made this class soooo much worse. Very hard to get an A unless u have taken calc before. Errybody gets a B.

Great professor. He provides a lot of examples in his slides and he posts them online so it's easy to do hw. He gives you practice midterms and finals so if you study those you're fine. Daryl keeps lectures entertaining and you don't really use the book for much except the graphs in the back. Overall fun class, highly recommended.

Daryl really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Very fair grading system, do your homework and practice exams to prepare. To reinforce the concepts join CLAS, Lee DeAnda is one of the many great tutors available.

The final counted for 50% of your total grade is what screwed me over. If you do well on all the midterms and then do average on the finals you will suffer. Also he gives a B to anyone who does all the homework and goes to the section which I think is unfair to the people who do well on the tests and do the homework.

Excellent professor. Hw is hard, but pays off. Do all of the practice midterms and finals he posts and you will definitely do well on the actual ones. CLAS is also a big help for this class.
