Teaches calculus in a non miserable way. Enjoy his accent and humor, tells lots of jokes. Easy class if you pay attention

Daryl is a good professor that gets the job done. You must adapt a bit to his teaching methods/style in how he presents the material. He likes to give more challenging problems to test your knowledge, but this is basic stuff and needs to be understood well. It's a "no excuses" class because there is no BS, and you earn the grade you receive.

Professor Cooper is an interesting math professor. Who had kept my interest almost throughout the entire lecture. Sometimes he can be confusing but he soon clarifies later. Also he is quite funny and entertaining which makes the class interesting as well.

His jokes are so lame that you will consistently be laughing at them. A cool, down to Earth guy that really knows how to teach calculus well. Truly makes the material interesting, and the minimal homework required will keep you on track with the class.

don't understand his teaching methods. Most confusing class especially coming in as a freshman. I would say come in with a concept knowing you will be doing ALOT of independent study.

Lecture is great at helping in the understanding of concepts, the actual arithmatic is up to you.

Doesn't really teach in class. Luckily concepts are extremely easy to grasp for anyone with an average intelligence. Not much to worry about. If you don't get it or need help your friends will provide a better explanation than prof cooper or his TAs.

He is very entertaining. His class is easy, you can easily get an A and B . His practice midterms are the same as the midterms. You need to go to lecture because he uses the iclicker and he does a quiz in each section that is worth 3 point if you are right.

Very funny professor. Love his personality and style. Homework doesn't help prepare for exams much, but helps break the mental sweat a bit.

WOW! how does this guy have good reviews He doesn't TEACH a lick of calculus, he doesn't teach at all actually, his favorite words are "figure it out" and "ask your neighbor" and the book? HA! joke! its all examples and no instruction. worst math class I have ever taken and I have been to three universities. good luck googling all your answers!

Very entertaining. Sometimes explanations are useless, but when they are useful they are very clear. Welcoming to all questions. I look forward to this class everyday.

not the easiest class i have taken, but one of my favorite, at least the calculus part. Cooper himself is a great lecturer, and at times funny, so the class is also just fun to attend. Do the work required, attend CLAS, and hope for a good TA, and you will get at least a B

Had Cooper for both 34A and 34B. His class is easy, lecture is entertaining, and even if that isn't your thing he gives lots of credit for effort (attend lecture, section, and attempt the HW and you can get a B)

Compared to my high school calculus teacher, he was horrible. He hardly taught anything. He gave a bunch examples problems without actually teaching the content. The book is horribly written and he wrote it so it doesn't make the class any better. If I didn't take calc already, I maybe would have passed this class with a C.

He is extremely helpful and welcomes all questions. He makes math understandable and relates it to everyday life so you know why you need calculus.

Do the h/w, if you don't know the answer, attempt it anyway. Go to class (iclicker participation points). Do the practice midterms, but don't expect the same TYPE of questions to be on there. Everything is fair game so learn it. Oh yeah, and go watch bourne identity.

I am not a math Person and I went into this class very skeptical. I didn't do well at all on the midterms but did decent on the final and gave me a B because I did all the homeworks and had full attendance. I saw him in office hours and he really cares about his students. Really listens and helps you. He's an awesome professor. Go to class and put

Lectures are pretty entertaining. I hope you like the Bourne movies, because you will not stop hearing about Jason Bourne. The homeworks were difficult and some of the problems were tough given our skillset at the time of the homework. The class is forgiving, though. I got a D on the mid #1, but walked away with a solid A in the class.

Seriously I failed the second 2 tests and most likely the final but because I made "effort" (showing up to class) I somehow ended up with a B...thanks Daryl!
