Cooper is a fairly good teacher. If you go to lectures and do the homework, you will understand the material. All the homework is based off of problems in the textbook, which is very helpful since answers are in the back. Other than homework and practice tests, the text is kind of pointless. But Cooper is absolutely hilarious!
Professor Cooper was very entertaining. When It came to teaching the material, i feel he did his best to get the concept across to 800+ students. It is impossible to cater to the different learning styles in such a large class. He tried to make the material clear. The text book is a major FAIL. Go to CLAS Lee is the best.
Much easier and more interesting class than I had anticipated. The rather ridiculous jokes made the lectures a lot more entertaining too!
He always tells a joke in class which is usually very funny. The class itself is SUPER hard. I haven't struggled with math at all until I hit this class. Midterms are only 6 questions each question being worth 4-8 points each which makes it difficult to get a good grade. I wouldn't recommend this class because of difficulty
Funny professor. When it comes to learning the material, the book and his notes do not help much. Also, the examples for the midterms and the final are in the back of the textbook, but when it comes down to the ACTUAL test, it's more challenging.
Excellent professor the best I have had so far. His jokes made my day!
He goes out of his way to try to make math as easy to learn as possible. I think that he cares more about making sure you become skilled at Calculus than if you can succeed on the midterms and finals. Likes to trick you. (34A)
very funny and cares about you understanding the material. the text is the least confusing math book I have read. Makes Calc easy!
All i know is that Bob is his uncle. Other then that, he's a good teacher. Read the text and go over lecture notes and expect some trick questions on tests and quizzes.
He's an excellent instructor for the fact that he's down with Jason Bourne. Thumbs up!
Dr. Cooper could be a very good teacher. I just was not able to learn at all from him. DO NOT take this class if you are under the impression this is the "easy" calculus class. It is SO not. The book is pretty useless too....it makes NO sense whatsoever.
Of course in a hall of 800 people it's hard to learn but cooper tries to keep it interesting and get people's attention by making his jokes. his jokes are funny because he tries but you can tell he cares how you do in the class unlike other professors. CLAS is probably the only reason I'll be passing the class though.
Professor Daryl Cooper was one of the funniest, interesting, caring, all areound best professor one can ask for. He knows the subject he is teaching and he definitely makes coming to class worth while.
Be careful of the midterms, usually they are harder to understand and trickier than the practice midterms in the back of the book.
He's an engaging, crystal clear professor. The content isn't particularly difficult for me, but I'm hardly ever confused. Whenever I am, however, he makes things very clear. His jokes are also rather exceptional.
He is a great teacher. Its a pretty easy class as long as you go to lecture. His powerpoints are very helpful and clear. He has some great jokes to. I enjoyed this class a lot. And i would recommend Laura as a TA she is very helpful.
Best math class I ever took. For people with no calculus experience go to CLAS, it will make a world of difference. His jokes and overall personality makes coming to class a great experience. The difficulty of the class is as fair as it gets, that requires you to be engaged, accountable & responsible.
Although we did a ton of word problems (which I hate), he was a pretty well rounded professor. He was fun to listen to and his jokes provided the class with some comic relief. (However corny they were) If you plan to take this class you better be amazing at word problems because that's what we primarily did.
Professor Cooper is very entertaining and certainly commands your attention.I had a difficult time mainly because of the pace of the course and the lack of in depth instruction of the material. This meant there was a lot of time spent hunting and pecking for help.
He was very funny and told lots of jokes. He has a cool accent too. He sometimes went too fast but then it's easy to catch up afterwards because he does examples for everything new he teaches. Overall, the class was decent.
Great teacher. He makes all the formulas extremely clear through examples and class participation. Even though he teaches in a big lecture hall it feels as though youre right up on stage talking to him.
cooper isa great math teacher!!! he stops in the middle of lecture to tell jokes which are funny and interesting. the material is not too hard and he makes it easy to understand by using examples and jokes. quizzes in discussiion every week but they are on what you learned in class and are easy if you pay attention. 3 midterms 1 final
Cooper is a pretty interesting and easy professor, 3 midterms , 1 final. I started skipping class after the 5th week, he posts up the lecture slides has great examples so you don't miss a lot. Midterms are graded easy, if you show some work, even if its the wrong answers, you still get partial credit. Always go to discussion, theres weekly quizzes
I thought he was an excellent math professor. Considering the size of the lecture in Campbell Hall, was very clear and as long as went to lecture, material all very easy. Skipped a couple homework assignments, and hardly read the book and still got an A
