Got an A+. Do your webwork, go to class, and show up to section. Very little studying or reading outside of class is required. Also, make use of your notecard for the test! It got me a 74/72 on the final!
Admittedly, this was not one of my favorite classes. Realistically, I loathed going three days a week. I felt Cooper spent more time telling jokes than teaching, and when he did teach, I found it hard to follow. The book was basically useless, and just as confusing as he was. I did somehow manage to get a B, because he does curve grades highly.
Prof Cooper was an amazing teacher! Go to class, ESP the class after HALLOWEEN to get the extra boost for you grade!! Tests aren't too hard, you get practice tests, go to math lab and CLAS because it helps! But It's very easy to get a B! Just go to class!
Professor Daryl Cooper knows his information and, unlike many professors, adequately conveys it to his students. Plus, he has a great sense of humor and cleverly keeps things interesting!
Professor Cooper makes his lectures fun. His tests are very fair. You will get a good grade as long as you master the practice tests, go to lecture, and do your homework. Easy A!
He's an good professor. Very funny, yes. Just make sure and pay attention during lectures and make sure to get CLAS if you are not a "math person".
Professor Cooper is the most amazing teacher I have ever had! He makes math FUN! I love it how he always made a joke each day of class! I'm glad I'm taking Math 34B with him! :)
Great professor, very funny! The powerpoints provide clear and detailed examples and are posted online. CLAS is very useful. Practice tests really help for midterms and final. If you study and work hard there is no reason not to pass the class! I really enjoyed this class and I am NOT a math person at all!
Great professor. Slides were in depth and clear and he puts them online if you need to review. Also, practice tests before midterms and finals were very helpful. Its not an easy A but if you put in effort, do the homework, utilize the math lab, do the practice tests, you're bound to pass with at least a B if not better. Overall, great teacher!
Great teacher, funny guy, jokes are kinda corny but we love them anyway, going to class is not bad, he curves the class well, overall a cool guy !
D.A.R.Y.L Cooper is a very funny professor who really knows how to engage the students with the course. The homework was just enough and the exams are nice and easy if you do the studying. I enjoyed the course. XD
Very Funny, Word Problems were annoying
Really funny, helpful, knows the material very well, keeps an otherwise boring topic very interesting. Great professor.
Good class. Class and text will provide you with an understanding of entry-level calculus concepts that is more 'practical' than comprehensive. Good for majors that don't require a lot of math. Exams are very fair. HW and attending lecture are extremely redundant if you already understand the material, but can lose you a ton of points if ignored.
Very clear and knowledgeable during lectures. Powerpoints are really helpful review of the material, which is good for exams. Exams are identical to those in the book so no surprises there. CLAS is a must for those not strong in math, otherwise this is a really easy class.
I struggled a lot with his class (CLAS is a must) but he definitely cares that you pass as long as you put the effort in. I always enjoyed his corny jokes.
Daryl Cooper is a funny funny man. He knows his stuff and managed to make sense out of word problems for me. However, teaching 700 people is really not an effective way for individuals to learn so I really recommend using the free CLAS sessions and attending them all. Daryl along with my awesome CLAS tutor Ed helped me get an A.
very good professor. Does go very quickly through the lecture so go to CLAS and get Lee DeAnda as your tutor. He is incredible
Great teacher. Nice guy. Overall good class
Cooper is clear and concise. His midterms are almost identical to the practice ones in the book. He gives you plenty of opportunity to succeed in his class and clearly doesn't want anyone to fail. He keeps you interested with a joke usually a half hour into class. He definitely makes class worth coming to.
awesome!
D Coop is straightforward. Lecture power-points are posted online. Test questions are similar to practice tests. No real tricks here. Plus he keeps the mood light with his jokes. CLAS is a big help for clarification on certain sections in the book.
Can sometimes be difficult to understand what he's trying to say, and not because he's British. It's because he doesn't clarify very well a lot of the time.
Daryl is the best math teacher I have ever had. I had heard that college professors don't teach, but Daryl definitely did. He used plenty of examples, tied everything together, and made math - MATH - enjoyable with his humor. I think one only need attend lecture and pay attention to get something valuable out of this class. Thanks, Daryl! :)
