Copper is definitely not the best math professor I've seen. DONT BUY THE BOOK! Trust me you will save money. Go to lecture for the Iclicker points. Make sure you get a good TA. I recommend Delgadi. He was in his office all the time even outside of office hours. Go to CLAS.
It was an easy class, although he made many snarky comments about the students' idiocy when they answered questions incorrectly.
lectures don't help much but is mandatory. class is very easy no reason not to get an A if you do all the work
Great math teacher! He makes the class fun and teaches you how to think through difficult problems logically and step by step. Definitely take this class with him!
Didn't take pre calc in high school and did fairly well. Midterms are a hassle, and word problems are even more so. But overall, it was not as bad as I expected. Effort is all you need to get a B.
ALL YOU HATERS, BACK OFF! Prof. Cooper is the man. Even though the word problems get a little confusing sometimes, his midterms/finals are strait forward and reflect his lectures. Also, the homework is a lot more difficult then the exams, which is also a plus. Put the time into this class, and you will get the grade you want.
Harder than 34A, but still easy to pass. Practice midterms are not the same as actual midterms. Hw still always harder than actual class. Wish we had gone over more problems to help prepare for the final. Overall, if you go to class everyday and try hard, it is easy to pass.
Cooper is an awesome professor and made me NOT hate calculus. I really enjoyed having him for the 34 series

Cooper is great! I've always been terrible at math but I actually managed to do well in his class! He plays videos and tells jokes in lectures to keep people interested, and if you go to his office hours he is really nice and helpful, even though the class is 500+ people. If you have to take 34A (or 34B) I'd definitely recommend him!

He is a very helpful teacher, and is extremely accommodating! All quarter (W2014) we have been having trouble with WebWork, the online server where we do our homework on, and he compensated us at the end of our last lecture. Highly recommend for Calc for Social Sciences.

In class Professor Cooper tells jokes all the time in lecture! He's also very willing to answer questions! There are quizzes almost every section. Do the practice midterms! They really help you understand the concepts and practice practice practice! CLAS helps a lot also!
Homework is assigned for each lecture and are more difficult than the exams. Quizzes every week. Sometimes unclear and moves somewhat quickly. practice exams are very similar to actual exams. if you can do the practice exams easily, the exams will be easy. iclicker everyday.
Cooper was a refreshingly fun teacher who was super enthusiastic about the class. The class is really easy due to the availability of extra credit on exams, and the opportunity to use a "cheat sheet" on all of the midterms. Kinda a must to go to section for the quizzes and lecture for the Iclicker.
Cooper was really cool! Not too hard of a class to take. I got an A with the help of clas. Sometimes homework doesn't correspond with what is going on in class, but the work is doable.
Super easy class. Lots of word problems, so if you don't mind those, it ends up being fine. I've always been bad at math, but I do really well in Cooper's classes. FINAL IS 50% OF YOUR GRADE, so as long as you don't mess that up, you're good to go.

Honestly the class is worthless, if it wasn't for clickers I would never have gone. However my section TA really help me learn the information. The HW is too hard compared to the tests with stupid hard word problems. DO NOT EXPECT THE TESTS TO BE AS HARD AS THE HW, NOR SHOULD YOU EXPECT THE PRACTICE MIDTERMS TO REFLECT THE INFO ON THE ACTUAL TESTS.
This class is pretty easy and enjoyable. Professor Cooper is always very enthusiastic and energetic. Class isnt hard, just make sure to practice a lot.
