Hated this class and never went because i could not stand being in his lectures. Not interesting at all. The exams are super easy if you study and know what you are doing. He basically reads from the book.
teacher is not very appealing to listen to. seems like a very nice guy. grading is VERY fair!
nice man, worst teacher I've ever had. Avoid this class like the plague unless you're a science major. And if you have to take this course, make sure you go to CLAS.
I never had trouble understanding his accent; honestly, I think this guy got a bad rap he doesn't deserve. He's not great, but he isn't bad either. My fav part about **** is how well organized he is; I always knew exactly what to study. Read your book, do the problems, and you will do well.
he is not a great teacher, but he's not hard. his tests are straightforward, meaning if you do the practice problems and understand the main concepts in the book, you'll be fine. Tests aren't meant to trick you and they're partially multiple choice and there's partial credit. CLAS only helps you, but it also depends on what tutor you get.
he is a really good teacher...u dont need to go to class all the time..u can simply miss..as long as u do the hw..which means ALL THE PROBLEMS..u will ace the test. and its almost impossible to not get a B...i barely studied and i did fairly well in the class...HE IS NOT A BAD TEACHER...just do the hw and ull be fine..u dont even have to read
Not only did I enjoy this class, but I also thought that it was really easy. I took AP Chem in high school which really helped, but **** also went through lots of examples. His tests were easy (I got A/B's on all three) except for the multiple choice which sort of sucked. Make sure you sit in the fron thought because he's hard to understand.

**** is a really nice old man, but he simply can't teach. All he does is copy the book and put it on the overhead and then read it to you. You do not need to go to his class, but you will need to sign up for CLAS or read the book intensely and do homework problems. Test are mediocre. If you go to CLAS and do homework problems you should be ok.
horrible!!! this old man should seriously retire. he's got this southern accent that is soo difficult to understand. you hear half the words he says but none of which make much sense. his lips also don't function very well because he's so old. he talks about important things that are not on his projectors and vice versa. JUST DON'T GET HIM! RETIRE!
Tests are hard but with the curve it's nearly impossible to fail. Lectures are hard to understand though, just read the book.
Really nice guy, awful teacher. Huge curve makes it hard to fail. As/Bs take work, but practically showing up for the final gets you a C. Lectures are useless: he mumbles through vague overheads. Stopped going by about 3rd week and got an A-. Allowed an 8.5x11 cheatsheet on exams. Read the book, use CLAS, study, and take the exams. Youll be fine =)
Okay, so you've heard a lot about ****. He's got a thick accent and mumbles a whole lot. Orally he's not the easiest to understand. His method of teaching consists of showing overheads and pointing and talking. For me this is not the best way to teach chemistry. My advise sign up for CLAS, keep up with the assigned problems in the book, and study
His curve is absolutely rediculous! It might just be impossible to fail this class. I would have gotten a C overall in the class if i had not taken the second midterm or final. His lectures are pointless, dont go your better off cutting your toenails
Is it chem thats hard to understand or a bad teacher not getting through to students that makes it hard. I think its just **** and that stupid Zumdahl text. Go to chem lab hours for help.
As long as you do the suggested problems in the textbook, you would do fine on midterms. Lectures are pretty useless; there is no need to attend more than once a week (that's even too frequent). If you only need a C in the class, you only need to get like 25%, but B's & A's are pretty much based on an absolute scale (80% for B & 90% for A).
class is completely pointless. save your time and just read the book. show up for midterms and final, other than that, don't go!! almost everyone passes.
really likes to use overhead projectors, and a lot of notes every day. midterms are unclear what they're asking for and the grading is low. atleast it's a curved grade. lectures are boring and need to sit close to understand with the accent. practice problems in class are unclear, don't get a chance to understand it cause writing so fast.
Definitely knows what he's talking about, but it REALLY helps to have done the reading before lecture. He moves too fast for some people, but if you study you'll do fine on the exams.
Very confusing. This stemmed from two main issues. Firstly his inability to speak the laguage of our country. And secondly, his inferioty complex/obsession with Stephen S. Zumdahl, author of our text book.
He mumbles a lot and it's pretty hard to understand him. lectures are pretty straight forward, and he's willing to leave up overhead if you're not finished copying down notes. hard class, but he lets you have a cheat sheet and the curve is awesome.
He's got a thick accent so you have to really pay attention to what he's saying, only sometimes he goes off on some tangent that illustrates his knowledge but isn't necessarily relevant to the class. Highly knowledgeable, answers all questions & goes over problems if you ask. One note page for test, do homework for optimal understanding.
