Such an easy GE. Her teaching style is very interesting. Classes are mandatory because of iClickers and videos that she uses on the exams. She's a nice person, but strict with talking, texting, computer use in class. A lot of information, but not hard to grasp at all.
Really easy class but there is a lot of information to remember so don't wait until the last minute to study. There is one midterm, one final, iclicker questions, online quizzes, and boring dance concerts she makes you go to downtown. Material is really dry unless you have a passion for dance.
Class was interesting, but the professor's powerpoints are terrible. Must attend lecture for iClicker, but there is no section. Mandatory dance concerts are expensive (around $80) and a pain to get to. Overall easy if reading is done and most lectures are attended.
The most boring class ever! I came in loving dance&now I cant stand it only because it reminds me of this class. Professor is so adorable, but her powerpoints do not help at all! &you have to attend 4 concerts which=$73. You have to either pay attention or read to pass, I got a C.
Easiest class I've ever taken. Didn't do the reading, got an 85% on the midterm and a 98% on the final and ended up with an A+ in the class. Have to go to a few concerts which are pretty boring but normally only like a hour or an hour and a half. Go to class for iclickers but thats about it. No homework, just midterm and final. Easy class, take it!
She's a really sweet person, but she's reeeeally annoying in lecture. It's an easy class if you put the effort into it. Need to go to class to get iclicker points. I didn't attend one of the concerts, actually did most of the reading, studied, and got an A+ in the class. nice GPA boost! But seriously, so boring. At least it's not early in the AM!
Easy class but absolutely boring. The teacher is annoying beyond belief. Got an A in the class without doing nearly any of the readings and only attending one concert. Easy class but be prepared to be annoyed and bored
Loved this class easy A if you do all the readings!
Easiest class I've ever taken but the professor annoyed me to no end. Don't ever once try to correct her even if she is wrong because in her eyes she's always right. Her powerpoints also don't have an organized system so be prepared to write as she talks, don't follow the powerpoints. Also, fill out the study guide and you're ready for any test.
Really easy class but does require you to go to class and do a lot of reading. The teacher is nice but a bit crazy at times. She does a much better job preparing you for the midterm than she does the final. During the second half of your class if you don't do the reading you wont pass because you don't learn much in class just watch videos
This class is an easy A but there were a bunch of readings and it could get pretty tedious. Her lectures are important because many test questions are based on those notes. One midterm and one final. Not cumulative. Easy GE credit.
This class is easy but not as easy as everyone says. You need to attend lecture for iClicker points. No need to buy the book. I just did the study guide which you can find online & never did the reading and got a B. As long as you study the study guide its possible to get an A. Take it for an easy GE.
This class was alright. Mrs. Press came across as neurotic at times but she was an excellent lecturer and overall nice person. The material the class covered was pretty interesting. The dance performances were boring, the reader was useful, and the in-class dancing was pointless but I still got an A.
The class is easy: no section & i-clicker attendance. Getting an A is not. The midterm easy compared to the final. Hard to study for b/c she give u a study guide but answers are not in textbook so you better be the best note taker and not miss any lectures. Tried hard for an A and got a B+. At least the class is not time consuming
Not as easy as people say. You have to attend lecture and do the readings, but make sure you know everything on the study guide.
Easy, no need to buy the reader ($24), ask a friend for the study guide and fill it out with lecture notes. Go to lecture and dance concerts. Tries to control the class too much, ppt is a list of terms, can be condescending.
Easy class IF you do the reading. The midterm and final were all multiple choice so you have to have read or done the study guide. I didn't do the reading so I got a B. Go to the concerts, there are questions about them on the final and midterm. Attendance is mandatory because of iClicker.
Press's lectures were definitely a new experience. She often talked about irrelevant stuff. She almost made the subject interesting for me. You can pretty much choose to either read or go to lecture, they both have essentially the same content. Definitely an easy A.
Dr. Press is a little out there. She is a nice individual but she tends to go on tangents about her husband and other things about her personal life. I found the reading to be very boring although the concerts were fun. Overall it was a decent class.
Hilarious and sweet teacher; she did the jerk in front of my entire class! Did the reading, iclicker questions, and went to all but one concert and got an easy A.
Hilarious teacher--she did the jerk in front of the entire lecture hall! Do the reading and the iclicker questions and you'll get an A
dont bother going to concerts, there were just about 2/3 questions on it. if u get everything u should get an A w/o the concerts. if anyone needs the book email ucsbgrl@yahoo.com, they're selling the reader for cheap
YAY doctor press!! she was such a boss! a little nutty, but her class was straightforward and easy. do the reading! and you will get an A! no joke. the reader is the midterm AND the final! great class.
I LUVV her. Very bright,KIND, engaging and demonstrative during lecture and you need that for a class about dance history. Exams r fairly easy but study very hard and attend those concerts and do pay attention during lecture. DID THAT ALL AND ENDED UP WITH AN A+. She really made me appreciate dance to another level?at the last day of class, she eve
