Dr. Press is such a sweet woman and a pretty good teacher as well. She tries to be funny and keep the class entertained. Her powerpoints kind of suck but the class is so easy it doesn't really matter. Attended all lectures/performance but did no reading and still got an A.

Treated students like little kids. Always lectured about cell phone use, talking in class, being considerate..etc. NO ONE respected her and everyone treated the class as a joke. Laughed for no reason all the time. Talked about husband and personal life like students cared. Class material was boring but easy. Don't watse money on concerts either.

Class isn't too hard but I thought she was very rude to some of the students and she's has some dumb rules. Like most people said, just follow the study guide

She teaches like we're high schoolers, constantly shushing and disallowing cell phone use. Don't waste your time/money at the concerts. Just know the study guide.

this class was alright. press is adorable, so energetic, and funny! a student taught her how to jerk during class. lol anyway, there is iclicker questions and you get points just for trying. material is simple just read and follow the study guide. you must attend four concerts downtown 21$ each but its just a waste of money/time so dont go.

the material is extremely boring unless you like dance. she requires you to go to 4 concerts but i didn't go to any (its a total of like $70) and didn't even read a page in the reader and still got an A. Just fill in the study guide and memorize it and you'll do well

Dr. Press is crazy! She's good though. She's energetic, funny, and her outline makes studying simple. Class can be boring at times, but she supplements the material with several good activities!

Terribly boring class. I got an A without paying attention. I just studied religiously prior to the midterm and exam. I tried to take in information but the material is just too bland. Unless you are obsessed with dance, the class will probably not be of interest to you.The tests were hard but I think she doesn't give out minus grades so that helps

Easy class, but probably the most annoying professor I have ever encountered. Class was pretty unbearable sometimes because of this reason. She thinks she's hilarious (which she isn't) and treats us like elementary school kids, which is probably where she should be teaching anyway. It was great when she tried to learn how to jerk though haha...

Press is an interesting human being. She is funny and when she actually does powerpoints it is useful but when she doesnt the reading can get confusing. Yes, you actually have to go in order to get i-clicker points which is 10% of grade which can help you. Two tests, 50 questions multiple choice. NOT as easy as it seems. Bummer.

Dr. Press is awesome!! Not only as a professor but as an individual as well! Tests are MC and come straight from the book and the concerts you attend. Worth my time! P.S. The concerts are a fun little outing to State too :)

Fun class to attend, though sometimes it's hard to sit in lecture for 100 minutes straight. Tests are MC and very easy; do the study guide and you'll get an A. The mandatory concerts are a bit expensive, but worth it

Carol is the most caring and helpful individual I have ever met. Her classes are full of fun and interactive material. She is funny, and has tons of energy so the 2 hour long class seems to be just an hour. She is very dedicated to her work and knows what she is talking about with the utmost confidence. study the class as a story! not just facts!

Literally went to class for the miderm and the final, and the 2/3 dance performances, and got a A- in the class. Guessed on half of the questions on the final exam. I did do some of the reading though. A good class for freshman - easy A. Defs don't have to go to class, just do the reading!

Press is completely crazy but that's what makes her special and interesting. the class is ridiculously easy. all you need to do is fill in your study guide, memorize all the terms and you'll be fine. the questions on the test are so simple. The 2 page paper is the easiet essay you'll have to write at UCSB

She's a little out there, but that's what keeps the lectures interesting. There's a mid-term, final, and 2 page paper. The lecture notes were 10x more helpful than the reading when it came to studying for tests. There are mandatory performances which she'll have questions on in the tests, but they're mostly interesting. She'll make you dance.

I took this class in Spring 2009. At first, I thought DR. Press was a little strict and but as we progressed through the quarter I came to enjoy her and her class. The performances were pricey, but fun. As long as you attend lecture and read, you will do fine on the exam. I recieved a D on the midterm,an A on the final and I got a B in the class

Carol Press is absolutely insane...and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. This is a really easy and simple class. I actually didn't find the lectures too boring and really liked the videos. Take it for the easiest A of your college career. You don't even have to go to lecture, just get the study guide from someone.

really really boring material and it's hard to figure out what is important or not. press was nice but i didn't care for her teaching style. didn't feel that the reading was relevant or necessary, but she insisted it was. easy enough but hard to sit through class.

Very easy class. There was a midterm, 2page paper and a final. There are study guides, just fill those out during lecture. The only bad thing is you have to pay around $70 for all the dance shows you have to go to.

She is VERY passionate about dance. She's kind of crazy at times but it's a good thing. She really cares about her students. The class is fun if you take it with a bunch of friends. I LOVED the concerts. 1 midterm, 1 final. Very good class to fulfill arts requirement. Highly recommended.

This class is easy but it made me mad because she gave us 150 somethin words an it was only 50 questions on the midterm an the final so u dont kno wut to expect...lectures was boring an videos too..make sure u bring snacks to watch tha videos

overall, this class was pretty easy. but it did get boring cause lectures are about 2 hours long. midterm, final, 2 concerts, and one 2 page paper. easyyyy classs! press is a wonderful teacher and makes class pretty interesting. i would definitely recommend this class

nice lady, easy class, can get an A if you know whats on the study guides, very straight forward midterm and final. have to go to 2 concerts and write one paper. gets fairly interesting after the first few lectures, but lectures are really long (2 hrs) so can get tedious..
