Truly not enough good things to say about Professor German. She is clearly so intelligent and well versed on what she is teaching about. She cares about the students, keeps class engaging and interesting. The structure of her class is clear, organized and manageable. Could not recommend more.

Dr. woods is a kind professor but her exams & group "quizzes" are impossible. Very ambiguous open-ended questions that are difficult to grasp or understand what she wants you to answer, yet your answer is expected to be very specific & graded by TAs. There's no clear grading criteria &too many worthless assignments. It was a really bad class setup.

Dr. Woods is the most lovely. Had her for Psy 109 and Psy 10A and always makes classes so engaging. People who don't leave her a good review are lazy and don't take advantage of all the resources she gives us. Very evident that she is passionate about what she teaches. Clear course outline and grading. She is simply the best!

This professor should take advice from RMP. DON'T FORGET TO PROOF READ! Her midterm didn't even make sense because she doesn't know how to write a sentence that is grammatically correct. Her lectures are the same but I expected different on a midterm. It took me so long to even understand what she was trying to ask me. Don't take her.

Professor German is a brilliant lecturer and even showed us her cats during the "breaks" she has in class. German's tests and quizzes are all online and are based on her lecture slides. She is accessible outside of class and is approachable, so definitely tune into her office hours!

Dr. Woods is a very enthusiastic professor that engages the class during lecture so you won't fall asleep. She repeats important topics many times which is super useful for the final paper. very accessible outside of class and overall not a harsh grader and tests are very reasonable. Very straightforward and to the point with her lectures.

easy class, nice teacher, the group projects arent super big and can be completed in class, one large final presentation project thing, quizzes are pretty easy. would highly reccomend

I've had woods 3 times, can definitely tell she really wants to be a good teacher. Her classes are pretty labor intensive, but she tries her hardest to make everything fair. sometimes there's questions or assignments that were unclear to me though sometimes.

I appreciate her enthusiasm and her lectures are helpful. I hated all the group projects and Eli review stuff is a pain but since there are so many assignments you can mess up and still do okay. Good professor but the class design is strange.

Professor German is the perfect person to teach this class; she's knowledgeable and makes the lectures interesting. She even gives students breaks throughout the lectures and shows videos of her pets. Highly recommend this class as a GE or for a pre-major requirement.

She gives so much extra work worth minimal points that take so much time, like 5% for Eli review which takes hours to properly respond! Also your grade heavily relies on group work (30%) and how many hours you spend detailing each take home home exam. Less than 12 hours? You'll get an F on that exam. More memorization than actual learning.

Favorite instructor and course Ive had at UCSB! Her lectures are amazing and the course is really well-structured where every assignment seems really applicable and useful. Definitely would recommend!

Dr. Albada is nice and presents the material well. The quizzes are fair and pretty easy too. How difficult this class is depends on how nice of a grader your TA is. Mine was very particular and I had to spend multiple hours over multiple days on every assignment to get an A from him. The research proposal is daunting, but possible.

She is very passionate and knows what she is talking about. Her class is outlined very well. When I took it, it was partially online because if a covid spike, but I honestly think that made it easier. Sections are mandatory and the class is test/quiz heavy. Reading the textbook helps a lot.

german is awesome! her lectures are pretty interesting (and she even includes videos of her cats in them). there are a few quizzes throughout the course but they are easy if you pay attention to lecture and use the textbook. overall pretty easy!

I couldn't imagine how Professor Albada could have done a better job with this course. Everything was straightforward; lectures weren't overexplained or off-topic. The quizzes were fair, and there wasn't any busy work. This class felt like it was designed to improve my research writing skills without being overly burdensome.

Prof German is nice! Her lectures are clear and inspirational. Your grades come from weekly quizzes and section participation. Although attendance is not mandatory, you have to take careful notes in order to pass the weekly test -- relying solely on her slides won't help! The lowest two scores get drop.

German gave amazing lectures and you can tell how passionate she is about the subject. She's very accommodating of her students, and since there is no final it was pretty easy to pass the class. Most of the exams are just based on some of the reading but mostly on the lectures, so I recommend going to them.

Professor German's class was awesome! There were 2 quizzes a week but they can be re-taken as many times as you want. There was no midterm or final, just weekly online exams. They can be difficult but the information was all in the lectures. She's clearly passionate about psych and the class is fun!

Prof. German was great! We had weekly exams, but 2 lowest scores were dropped. They were pretty tough and hard to understand at times, but EVERYTHING came from lectures and readings so make sure to stay on top of that! Quizzes are given and you were able to retake as many times are you wanted! Extra credit is available too, but don't depend on it!

Psych 1 was a great experience with Professor German. Although her lectures can be tedious at times, it was overall a super easy class that you can easily get an A in if you do the required work. She's super cool and her class was very well organized and clear. Also there's no midterms or finals, so that's cool.

This class is easy id say loll. If u r trying to find a GE- this is it. I can tell she's a nice person even tho I skip her cat videos everytime lol. Lectures are clear and well-organized- u really can learn something

What a gem! rockstar professor with the best outfits. No final or midterm, just weekly exams. You need to pay attention in lecture and do the readings to do well on the exams. My only complaint is some of the exam questions are hard to understand. But overall, this was an awesome class with a caring prof.
