very straightforward class, easy one too. she gets you involved by having students participate in research studies, and the actual classwork is a breeze. if you are familiar with psych at all, this class can be done with eyes closed. definitely attend/watch her lectures, because weekly quizzes she does are entirely based on them. sections suck tho

I LOVED Prof German. She's very intelligent and understanding. If you miss a weekly quiz you can retake during finals week. There's no final or midterm for this class, but I went to every single lecture anyway because the topics were so interesting. She explains things very clearly, AND she shows cat videos at the beginning of every class!

Prof Germans class was very easy. Attendance not mandatory all her lectures and recordings were posted on canvas. Had quizzes every week (open book and online), along with one assignment based on class material each week (grades on completion). Asked to complete 6 credits of psychology research only worth 6%

prof german was super sick! interesting and concise presentations, straightforward expectations, and very manageable class work and quizzes. ta sections can be very boring though. no final too which rocks. highly recommend taking as an easy GE

Wonderful professor as her lectures were engaging and so well organized! I loved the cat videos at the beginning of class and she overall just seems like a super cool person to be around. No midterm or final was amazing, weekly quizzes were a bit difficult (take lecture notes AND listen to her examples) but doable. Also TA Miriam Urie was amazing!!

It was easy to learn from her lectures because even though they were content heavy, concepts were explained well. She also recorded and posted videos of every lecture. There were also no midterms or final, just asynchronous open note quizzes once a week. Assignments were also minimal. Definitely take for an easy A.

German is so helpful and lenient. Lectures are not mandatory but they are very engaging and easy to follow. Weekly quizzes and section participation were the whole grade. No finals no papers. SUCH AN EASY GE

Best professor by far. She's so sweet and passionate about her lectures. She doesn't do midterms or finals but does have a quiz at the end of every week. As long as you pay attention in lectures (which are actually really interesting) and look at the slides you should pass with no problem. Wish I could take her class again and again.

Super light workload with roughly two short assignments a week. Super engaging lectures that helped you stay focused. No final or midterm for this class only small weekly open note quizzes. Very helpful in office hours if you ever have any questions. Textbook is optional her lectures go over everything needed to pass the quizzes.

AMAZING CLASS!! Incredibly easy, almost no hw and online tests so definitely take this professor for the GE, but also really interesting. Professor cites SO many real life experiments that really engages you with the class. Final was online and really doable. Light workload so it's great to learn some more psychology without stressing at all.

Prof. Woods is hard and gives a lot of work, but she is very fair and makes sure that if you do the work, attend class, and actively engage with her content, you will be rewarded with a greater understanding of psychology and neuroscience. She is not a prof you want to take if you want an easy A, but will definitely make you a better scientist.

Loved her class! It always felt like time flew in there because the material is very interesting. Quizzes every week, but online & open note. Also had to read a lot, but it wasn't too bad tbh.

so witty and just an overall amazing human being. you're graded by multiple things (papers, quizzes, exams) and she gives LOTS of opportunities for extra credit. she presented the material so well and i found the course really engaging. i loved doing the assignments and she gave great feedback. if you can, take one of her courses!!

Great professor, really interesting class. Very clear grading criteria and helpful feedback. The writing labs were very necessary for the final project.

Amazing professor, very knowledgable and very easy grader. Always includes cat videos in her lectures. Met one of my best friends in this class as a freshman :)

This class was extremely easy and amazing for getting comfortable with classes at UCSB! You work in groups and get to meet new people and learn how to read research articles and discuss them. Woods is a great professor and really knows what she is talking about.

I had Woods for 10A and I loved her. The class focuses on writing a research proposal, and there is a clear and well organized system that slowly sets you up to writing it. Woods really knows what she is talking about, and is available and ready for questions. She can come off a bit intense, but she is very nice and willing to help.

One of THE best professors at UCSB... Very few personal interactions with Dr. Albada (my own doing), but the few that I had, she was extremely personable. She provides a "life happens" class room environment with wiggle room in case something comes up during the quarter. I didn't do as well as I hoped, but its likely what I deserved. 100/10 prof

She is unaccommodating, and condescending towards students. She isn't inspiring and thinks that she's better than other professors because she makes students do a lot of work.

HORRIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Treats students like numbers in a system, could care less about extenuating circumstances or out of school issues. Would nott recommend

Fav course by far. Super nice and understanding professor. Lectures are straightforward and she records them so you don't HAVE to go to lecture. She talks quite fast, but make sure to take notes on what she says and not the slides (exams focus more on what talks about). Professor German is awesome! Her lectures are very interesting, and are broken into 4 parts with breaks in between. No midterm or final though there are weekly tests and a short quiz on each lecture. All are open note and the quizzes have unlimited attempts. Both are easy if you pay attention in lecture and read the book. Would highly recommend!

LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Albada. If you are given the option to take Albada, TAKE HER!!! She is by far the best professor I have had at UCSB thus far. She is an extremely kind, humble, caring, and patient professor and she truly cares for her students. She explains very well in lecture, makes everything clear, and structures her class in a very nice way.
