Anyika was overall a pretty good professor. I felt like she taught better than I've had any other teacher teach me. When u go to office hours she doesn't j give you the answer, she walks you through it and makes sure you understand everything. Shes very realistic with her expectations and although it may seem harsh, her feedback and advice helped.
Ochem will be tough with anyone. She can be mean at times but no other professor pushed me to be better than her. She clearly cares about every single student and wants them to succeed. Go to office hours, do your book problems, participate, and don't be intimidated by her.
Say what you will, but she's a great professor and tells you everything you need to know for the test, even if it's only mentioned once. That's why it's important to take note of everything she says and go to the lecture.
She was alright; she fear mongers, but I think she's just blunt and keeping it real. Most of the time it was just enough to make me pay attention and lock in. Maybe for some people it's a bit demoralizing. I preferred her lecture style to Lewis, felt concepts were clearer and she would go more in depth. I liked her dry humor too.
Horrendous professor, tells you you will fail day 1. Does not care about you or your feelings. Doesn't teach everything will tell you to self study about hard topics. Overall a very bad experience in this class and was a really rough first step in my OChem journey.
Anyika is a genuinely good professor and isn't as difficult as people make her out to be. The problem in most cases is how people tend to study o chem you must not only be able to solve the problems but understand the reasoning behind the answers in depth (super technical exams) heavily rely on the notes and make sure to do all text book problems
