Total lush. Undoubtedly **** during lectures. This guy was totally smashed downtown and grabbed my wife's ass. I have heard that he is barred from E Bar because of his drinking problems
Lectures make sense, very knowledgeable and into subject matter, but didn't like the fact that essay questions counted as zero x amt. of MC right. one screw up and all that hard work is gone.
not reccommended for first year students unless very skilled in econ. hard to understand reader, prof. with accent. he calls on ppl and yells at them if they are wrong. smart man, a little rude. suggest take course w/ diff prof. if frosh.
Crouch as a professor is an **** for picking on students in his 8am lecture. His tests are fair...read the questions carefully and understand what they are asking because you can easily be tricked if you rush through his exams. Plenty of time for exams
hard but good teacher
This guy is bloody hilarious! It makes for interesting times hearing him insult students and make rude comments, he's very smart, just make sure u pay attention and read the reader
not the easiest class around but certainly one of the most entertaining classes i've had. he's very knowledgable about economics and if you attend all the lectures/discussions then you'll do fine. hearing him insult other countries' economy is priceless
His tests are really easy if you pay attention in lectures and he is pretty funny if you just laugh at his rich old man comments.
crazy!...talks about the e bar a lot.
Doesn't offer a text for the class. Makes studying for exams almost impossible. Completely depends on his crappy lectures. The man is obviously smart but his lectures are too difficult to follow and his thoughts are so unorganized.
he's a crazy old man, don't come late to class and don't wear a hat or bright colors to lecture unless you want him to **** with you.
Prof. Crouch is by far the best Econ prof. ive had @ UCSB...if you really pay attention he's easy too. he gets straight to the point and teaches you the theory you need to know. does not waste time with stupid math junk like other econ profs..
Class was interesting, but difficult. At the least, he is an entertaining professor. Midterm/Final are unreasonably stressful. Would not recommend to others. Other econ 1 professors are easier and thourough with discussions with experiments.
cant read his writing... NICE MAN but hard
As a freshman class can seem very difficult, but a good TA can help alot. Not hard once you get into the class.
This guy was awesome. He talks**** about his students and his TA's, drinks vodka in class (allegedly), and was part of the Reagan adminstration some time ago. What's not to like about this jolly fat Brit?
do not take this class with crouch. it was the hardest class i have ever taken in my life
My favorite teacher because he gets straight to the point! Econ isn't econ without crouch.
Crouch is a fair man himself...go to lectures...he outlines the important essay questions. TA: Reed Johnson is the best TA for the class, he really tries to help anyone he can.
I took this class last quarter and it was quite difficult. But once you get used to his style it becomes easier, which is why i'm taking econ 2 next quarter. Advice: go to lecture everyday or you're screwed! Reed Johnson is the best ta. Nellie Lew sucks
The Funniest teacher ever !!
Crouch is a funny guy and you have to love him. Lecture is an option. Not really all that helpful because he mostly goes through the essays. TA's are the key. Avoid TA Wood and go for Reed or the Irish guy, they are awesome.
This is a very hard class--i read the chapters at least three times and did EVERY question in the reader and i still had a hard time. Make sure you get a good TA or your screwed. avoid micheal wood at ALL costs--he is the worst TA ever!
crouch knows his economics. go to lecture and study...you will do well. avoid the TA ying sun at all costs. if reed johnson is an option, get him. overall, not a bad class.
