crouch really knows what he is talking about. his class makes the other econ 1 class seem like a joke. this class is really hard only if you make it hard. if you read the book and do the questions and go to lecture, you'll do fine. dont get TA ying sun.

Crouch is this crazy old man with a wild ass hair cut and a very...unique...style of teaching. He doesn't mind putting someone on the spot in the middle of one of his draining lectures and asking them a difficult question and mocking their "stupidit
Crouch is an awesome teacher. People that don't like him, just don't like him because they don't study. If you study, and do your problems, you'll do well in the class. Crouch explains things really well, you just have to listen and take notes.
Best professor I've had so far. Has complete knowledge of course material. Probably the only conservative professor on campus.
Worst...teacher...ever... I think this guy is missing most of his vital organs: his heart, eyes, all writing-related muscles, and most importantly, his entire brain! no one CARES about that woman in the bar with the $20!

You can't understand a lot of what he says and none of his writing. Even tho he's as a** and his lectures are boring, he knows his s***! If you read the book and do the practice questions, his tests are not that bad!

I love this man as much as I can love a bad suit-wearing brit with an attitude. He is like a very well-educated Dennis Leary. Not very easy, not very clear, just a great teacher. If you don't get it though, forget asking for help.
Great professor. Very hard class so you really have to pay attention. Once again, cool guy but an extremely hard teacher.
One of the best teachers I've had at UCSB. He is ruthless and challenging, but has a great sense of humor. You will know economics when you leave the class.
Couldnt understand him at times, sloppy writing, 30 second breaks are not! make sure you draw the right graph on the essay portion
This class was soo hard! Sometimes lectures would be amusing, esp. when he goes off on legalizing cocain...but most of the time I just sat there in fear that he would call on me. Don't worry too much though, even I manged to pass.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS: Freshman year,if you aren't required to or want to retain your sanity. Crouch knows his **** but gives the hardest tests you will ever take in your life EVER. If you get Reed Johnson as a TA you might as well not attend section.
He is hilarious and very well educated in economics. He knows what he is talking about but is rather intimidating to approach. He also will call on people in lecture and totally bash you if you get the question wrong, but it is a worthwhile class.
