This was by far my favorite class at UCSB. The material I learned in class has already helped me in various other classes as well as the real world. Professor Greathouse truly cares about the students and is teaching simply to give back and help out the students. Hands down the best professor at UCSB!
After taking several of John Greathouse's classes a few years ago I can say without a doubt that he gave me more practical knowledge than anyone else across my education. Didn't realize it at the time, but his lessons transformed my path to success into a straight line and helped me get past the many entrepreneurial challenges along the way.
John is an incredibly inspirational human being. He truly cares about his students, and does everything in his power for them to succeed. He goes as far as to start his TMP21 classes with offering job opportunities to his students. You learn a lot of practical knowledge in his class, which can be applied almost immediately in the workforce.
One of the best professors at UCSB! Professor Greathouse is very knowledgable about everything -- if you are interested in business/technology/entrepreneurship you should definitely take one or more of his classes.
John is one of UCSB's best professors. Taking any of John's classes no matter the major is a must if you want to get the best experience from UCSB. I really enjoyed the two classes I took from him and use the knowledge he shared in my personal and work life! Do yourself a favor and take the class.
I had Prof Greathouse as a professor for several classes and they were hands down some of my most interesting classes at UCSB. I graduated in 2016 and still use a lot of the material I learned in his classes today! I also consulted him for some help on my personal endeavours and was able to help me within a heartbeat! Definitely recommend his class
has a very active role in the tech industry, be grateful and utilize his knowledge and expertise. Now looking back at my UCSB experience I can say that Greathouse was not only my favourite teacher, but he was also the most influential professor Ive had in my life. everything I learned in his 134 class is used in my post-grad job.

Prof. Greathouse is a really nice teacher. If you have any questions, you just need to ask for his help. For the in- class quiz, it is not very difficult, and only need to know the most important key point both on slides and book. He wouldn't make it difficult for you
John's a great guy and great mentor. He is very knowledgeable about a wide variety of topics. He gives out pop quizzes once a week in lecture; I failed every single one of them and still managed to get a good grade in the class. Do the extra credit, try hard on the papers and projects and you'll be fine!
John Greathouse is a respected advisor and voice in the startup community, so if you're an aspiring entrepreneur you are learning from one of the best. The lessons learned in John's TMP classes have stayed with me since graduating. The courses are very practical and interesting!
John was always been a great teacher. Since freshman year I have looked up to him and he has always given me great advice. He cares about his students and is incredibly clear to his students. I would recommend taking this professor.
John is one of those rare examples of someone who is so obviously capable and skilled at everything he does, as well as being just a really nice down-to-earth guy. TMP 21 itself isn't super hard just a few papers mostly on yourself, and his lecturing makes you want to come to class, if the pop-quizzes weren't incentive enough. 10/10 would recommend
Greathouse is an amazing professor! He actually has real world work experience which is rare at a research university. So much is applicable to getting actual jobs and just growing as a person. His lectures and style is a little unorganized sometimes but he still has his main points together.
Greathouse is the GOAT. Very sincere and knowledgable person. He doesn't push the status quo of "education", but instead gives you very valuable life advice that you can easily incorporate into your personal and professional life.

John is a good example of someone who's really passionate about passing knowledge forward. His lectures are fun and grounded in real-life examples - the man has tons of experience! The best part is that John is extremely well connected and willing to hook students up with job opportunities with local companies. Definitely worth taking!

He frequently informs of potential internships/jobs, brings in local companies, and assists with career advice to help prepare for after college, truly cares about his students. Professor Greathouse is definitely one of the, if not, the absolutely best professor Ive ever had during my four year college career. He is passionate about teaching, he genuinely wants to help his students, and hes very approachable. Youd have to try to fall asleep in his lectures. Hes a very compelling and captivating speaker. Im a big fan.
