PAZOS S
The lab class is a lot of work but it's not bad. I took it as a third year transfer and this class was a lot easier than some of my other labs. The calculations aren't difficult and you have lab time to work on them. Follow the rubrics and you will be fine. Pazos was very nice and helpful when I had a medical emergency.
This class made me realize why I want to do research. I had a lot of fun taking this class and I think I really understood how to explain my data. The prof was very responsive and helpful and so was my TA. It was cool taking a class with only chem majors. Make sure you follow the rubrics provided
Prof was nice and my TA was very helpful. If you go to the Profs ONDAS office hours she rarely has people go to those so you can ask her advice on what to do with a chem career. I liked being able to plan my own experiments in this class.
The class itself is time consuming but not difficult and the final was doable. Only interacted with her via email and she was very responsive and accommodating so I appreciated it. I've never met anyone's grade who got curved down but people say it happens but my grade pretty much stayed the same and some friends grades got better.
Never met her in person but my TA was great which made the labs a lot better. The final was hard but not impossible. She is known to curve down but my grade didn't change with any curve so it can be fine. The final was really weird and many equations were unbalanced. Overall it was fine and you'll survive.
I do not recommend taking 2AL and BL at the same time as you mostly write lab reports in 2BL. Professor was very nice and helpful.
