Gellers covid syllabus is too good to pass up. If you're at all lost in physics he's the one to take bc not a single test. all hw on sapling(book) and some lecture quizzes. Super easy if fast math is not your forte. took other phys prof and honestly prefer geller. his grade curve is steep but makes sense bc it's basically an easy A with no tests.

For distance learning, this class was pretty unorganized. No set office hours, quizzes whenever he felt like it, no scheduled assignments until the week of. Make sure you check Sapling for due dates. They change without notice. Other classes I've taken have always had a set schedule in the syllabus, but not Geller's 6A. Quizzes are easy tho.

I failed Physics 6A my first time round due to a really bad midterm, but Freund is a extremely good physics professor and his class is pretty easy if you know what your doing. His practice exams are very similar to the ones found on exams. He always keeps you engaged in lecture and is very helpful!

Even the tutor that I hired for Freund's classes doesnt understand his practice tests and exam questions. They are worded so weirdly and are quite unnecessarily complicated, he just doesnt make any sense. Hes very scatterbrained and is NOT efficient with lecture time. I only got an A because the curve was ridiculously big.

Great professor, understanding. Physics is hard, but study the practice midterms, make sure you know how to do those problems inside and out and you'll be set for the tests.

He's a good lecturer. I had other physics professors and he explained things the most clearly and concisely. He also makes adorable little jokes in class too.

Sucked at teaching physics. Lectures only covered conceptual material, tests contained at max 1-2 conceptual problems. Final was really hard for 6B, like unreasonably hard. Had him for the entire physics series-- would not do again if I could

If you've never taken physics before, take another professor. I failed both midterms but he gave a generous curve. Do the practice tests and make sure you know it and any possible twists. Stay on top of the work. He introduced concepts in the last 5 min of class and not enough time on tests. Clear explanations and enthusiasm, though.

Freund is honestly a terrible teacher for someone who has never taken a physics class before. The midterms are usually similar to the practice ones, but also can be really unfair- he once introduced a new concept in the last 3 minutes of lecture and then put two types of those problems on the test. Only got an A because of the coronavirus curve

Funny guy. No homework for 6A, all tests and a little participation. Doesn't always give clearest explanations. Tests were reasonable and like practice tests. Some questions are very unique and difficult, but very rare. Overall good professor, but: not the easiest and the lecturers are not always clear/informative.

Lectures are sporadic, unorganized, and he treats physics as if it were intuitive to the entire room. If youve never taken physics before DONT TAKE HIM

Terrible Lecturer. Grading was fair. From 1-10 in difficulty examples given in class are a 1 and test questions are a 10

took the 6 series with Geller. He's really into the topic and wants you to focus on applications. His tests were easier than Sapling. I would suggest going to lectures for the practice probs he did in class. Do the probs he posted on gauchospace.

Geller definitely made the class/tests a lot harder than it had to be. This is a level entry Physics class made for Non-Physics students, yet he would make the tests difficult enough to the point where the avg. score was always around a D. I walked away with a grade I was happy with but had to put in a lot of work, so it depends if youre up for it.

Professor Ernest Freund is great! He explains thoroughly and understandably. He is hilarious and we always laugh during classes. The homework on Sapling is optional and unrelated to test questions. For 2 midterms and 1 final, he gives thorough explanations of every kinds of problems that will be included in exams. And test questions are not tough.

Love professor Freund!! I refused to take the physics 6 series with any other professor. He is so clear about what he wants you to know and the practice midterms that he provides are SO helpful for his tests. His classes are early, but are always entertaining so I don't mind that I have to go. I-clicker 4% of your grade, 2MT & final

I dont know why he has a bad rep, he was such an amazing professor and really tried to apply physics to the science field. Geller is better than Freund in my opinion, barely scraped by in Freunds when I studied nonstop. For Geller I could study at least 3 days ahead of time and got an A-. I love how Geller teaches, really made physics interesting!

Lectures are mandatory because iClicker, but lectures are very pointless. If he is not ranting about something he is doing a demo. Little to no notes are taken during lecture. Exams are free game and formula sheet given is not helpful whatsoever. It is best to find your own resources and learn from the homework and CLAS

He was a solid teacher. He's focused but keeps you entertained with the way he talks at the same time. The tests were very similar to the practice tests, just make sure you understand the scenarios (not only the specific aspects asked on the practice test as he does change it). He's not interested in babying anyone but practice and you'll be fine.

For an early morning class, Freund made me enjoy physics, and I had no exposure to physics before college. He's entertaining, his practice tests are similar to the actual exams, and there's no Sapling! His demos are really intuitive, albeit somewhat tangential, and his lectures are sufficient enough to do well on tests. Best prof of the 6 series.

Geller does not teach his students at all. All he does is demos in class, and maybe covers 1 or 2 equations. He should stick to research and let someone who has a passion for teaching do the teaching. There's no clear level of expectations that he has. Be prepared to teach yourself everything, because he won't be the one to teach you.

He's the best!!!! Very easy teacher, makes the concepts intuitive

Geller's lectures were really fun to attend because of the fact that he does a lot of demos and talks about real life applications of the physics. We do a lot of problem solving on Sapling so it's helpful to see why. He uses iClickers but that helps boost your grade. A lot of people don't like his lectures but they're also the ones who don't go.

Really cares about his students, lectures have iclicker and homework on masteringphysics sucks but the whole department uses it. Really accessible outside class, make use of office hours and you will easily get an A even with no experience in physics.
