He is an easygoing prof with understandable lectures. Pretty easy class with no exams, and HW was 75% of your grade (sadly homework deducts you if you get an answer wrong which is annoying), quizzes 25%. I would much rather have him for 6B than Freund. Oh well, I don't get a choice.

The fact that quizzes were over 75% of the grade definitely made it hard to get an A if you aren't totally zoned in and focused for the whole quarter. The lectures were solid though, and he did do a small curve to help people who were borderline. I think he's a good prof and likely would be even better in person.

(taken online) The majority of course (76%) is 20 quizzes, lowest dropped, two a week. Quizzes were similar to the practice problems he provides but he usually adds a problem that was more difficult and if you got that one wrong you would get an 80% on the quiz (quizzes had 5 ?'s). Made it difficult to get an A. Overall fair and decent lecturer.

He's a solid choice. He's not gonna inspire in you a firey, lifelong passion for physics, but you probably have to take 6ABC for your major, so he fills that role quite functionally. He doesn't make things harder than they have to be, which is prob what you're looking for.

Take 2 quizzes a week (20 in total) & worth 76% of your grade. Each quiz has 5q so make 1 mistake and its 80%.Def learned more from Freund than Geller BUT as someone who didn't have any past knowledge of physics from HS, it was rlly hard to do well in the quiz since he had organized but very short lectures which made it hard to grasp the topics.

The class structure was pretty straight forward with quizzes making up 75% of grade, and the rest is by sapling homework. The bad thing about this class is that there's only 5 questions for each quiz, leaving no room for mistakes. I feel that the professor could've been more compassionate with the quizzes + grading . 6A (online) had fairer quizzes

Structure of this class is really bad. Most of your grade is the module quizzes which are only out of 4 points, so making mistakes isn't really an option. He is decent at lecturing but class structure could be made a lot more fair.

He has such great lecture videos and I really appreciate how colorful notes are so it makes everything very clear and easy to find. Each video is it's own topic and very well organized. If you do the practice problems and watch the lecture for the problems where he solves them, if you don't make silly mistakes on the quiz (which I do lol) it's easy

Geller is an excellent professor. I took him for PHY 6A and 6C during the pandemic switch to online learning and he was very accommodating and made the class manageable in an online format. He's a funny guy and is very passionate about physics and astronomy. He makes the material understandable and grades mostly on homework and weekly quizzes

Prof. Geller is great! His lectures are pretty interesting, but he does speak really slowly in them so make sure to speed up the video. Since the class was all online, he didn't make us do a midterm or final, so our grade was dependent on Sapling homework and quizzes only, which really decreased my stress level.

Geller was very considerate with his grading policy, 75% sapling hw and 25% weekly quiz. You can leave the quiz open the whole week which allows you to answer the questions gradually. The hw isn't hard at all and enough time is given. He also dropped the lowest scores in each category. Overall an easy A if you put in minimal effort

Homie a real goat, very understanding and he explained things in a way I understood easily. Also is very understanding when it comes to bad life circumstances.

Took the class online. Your grade is 75% homework and 25% weekly quizzes. The quizzes were pretty easy as there was no time limit once you started the quiz and while the questions were specific they are all from the lectures. He's really fair and accomodating and you can tell he really cares about the class/his students. He even gave a 2% curve.

Professor Geller seems like a cool guy, very knowledgeable on the class topics, but the class itself is very hard. Reading the textbook is a must, but it's overly complicated and hard to understand. Geller clears things up a little in his lectures, but even then things aren't explained very well. Overall, he's a cool guy, but the class is not fun.

Taking this class online, professor Geller posted all of his lectures day 1 of the quarter. This allowed us to work at our own pace and complete what we needed to on our own timeline. His instructions were clear and the workload of this class was very manageable. He is a good professor for life science students who need physics to be made easy.

Not sure how the class is taught/graded normally, but highly recommend taking while it's online! The class is basically set up so you can get an A if you just complete the online HW and do decently on the weekly lecture quizzes (no midterms or final). Geller seems super passionate about physics and gives many helpful real-life examples.

Wish Geller was teaching Phys 6B. He's a great professor and it seems like he's super passionate about Physics. He's clearly really intelligent and knows his stuff. He seems like a really nice guy. The class is structured so everyone gets an A basically.

His quizzes were way harder than any problems he did in the lecture, and you have to take them the same day you learn it. Also, each quiz only has about 4-5 points, so you cant really make mistakes and still get a good grade as quizzes are 76% of the total grade. Got an A in Geller's 6A and might not even pass this quarter, much harder in my opn.

My main issue is that majority of the grade is the quizzes and theres just too many of them. Twice a week, barely get to get through lectures and have to get quickly tested on it. quizzes are very tricky imo. If quizzes were once a week, I could have a chance to better prepare

Dr. Geller is amazing! I really enjoyed being in his lectures, he taught the subject very passionately, and definitely enjoys teaching it to students. He mainly steered it toward biology majors. There was a fair amount of homework and quizzes, however, the material was taught very clearly. I would definitely enjoy taking one of his classes again.

The course structure is questionable. There are no midterms or major exams, 76% of your grade depends on 20 quizzes which you take immediately after each lecture with little time for practice/understanding. These quizzes are also sporadic, which discourages reviewing for previous questions you missed as you are constantly focused on the next quiz.

Super well organized online course for physics 6B. Love how his quizzes are very similar to practice problems, have adequate time allowed, and aren't written with the intention of the average being a C.

I hate physics but had to take this for my major, so I wasn't too hopeful about this class. The lectures are incredibly long (it's a physics class, so it's expected to be a bit intense), but they help a lot with the weekly quizzes. The homework isn't bad if you pay attention and can grasp the overall concepts/formulas from lecture.

Physics is hard, and pandemic learning is hard. But this guy is pretty fair in regards to grading. He put effort into making clear pre-recorded lectures, and you can tell he wants you to do well. Very homework heavy (Sapling) but I like those interactive homeworks personally. Id take him again.
