GOAT. Online class is even easier
never wrote an RMP before but I have so much respect for him for sticking up for his students. the most amazing, fun, and encouraging lecturer. go to office hours, ask about conceptuals (not just memorize questions), do practice exams, and you'll crush it. he's so goated, if I ever get Alzheimer's he'd probably be the last person I forget
I love Freund. I've had him the whole 6 series and he's just a good person. He cares about students, and is always upbeat about everything. He's also always facing pressure from the physics department to make his exams harder, so he tries to add Geller questions to exams. However, if you do well enough on his questions, you can still do well.
Lots of homework which make up a lot of your grade which is super nice. Exams are hard but fair, if you keep up with the homework and do the practice problems he gives you will be fine. His lectures are super entertaining and interesting, always doing some fun demos.

Freund is the goat, that's it, that's the review. Do not miss his last class of 6C -- there was a special guest appearance, that's all I can say.
I was placed into his class because the other sections were full and was a little nervous due to the other rate my professor ratings. However! Geller is my favorite teacher at UCSB so far, even as someone who isn't fond of physics. You will succeed if you understand problems from HW, textbook, and assigned practice problems (not rote memory).
He simplifies material so much, avoids calculus equations and, goes over practice problems which help for each module. Great professor. You always know what to expect for midterms and finals because it's the same as all the practice problems.
His lectures are all conceptual and have nothing to do with calculations. After asking friends, I heard a majority of his questions are mathematical-based. In addition to his teaching, he also does not post any resources. His notes are from a student, not himself. And he does not provide any videos of himself explaining those mathematical problems.
One of the best professors I've had. The material can be tricky, but Freund's lectures and practice problems make it manageable. Definitely do the prep work - unstuck AI was a lifesaver alongside the textbook. Engaging class, would take again in a heartbeat.
Hands down he is the best physics teacher I have had. He makes the lectures accessible on canvas. His exams are similar to the practice exams he posts. If you are someone who would rather watch lecture videos than going to class, take him. Watch the videos and the practice questions for each module and you will be good.
Freund is awesome, I took the full PHYS6A-C series with him. Tests are exactly like the practice problems he gives out so do them all in preparation for tests or daily to stay on track! Attendance is not mandatory, but if class missed you should watch his posted videos.
There's a reason why he's the GOAT. Definitely my favorite my professor at UCSB
Had Freund for the whole 6 series and he's easily one of my favorite professors I've ever had. Do the practice problems and quiz problems until you basically have them memorized and the tests will be easy. Also, make sure you go to lecture on the last day of 6C
I love this man. I took him for Physics A, B, and C and he never failed to make me laugh. The physics itself is confusing at times, but he makes it easy to digest and usually just gives you one formula that you have to understand. He models his exams after the practice problems for each module, so DO THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS. Give this man a raise!
Absolutely loved Freund. Lectures are engaging with demonstrations at the end of each class. Your grade is almost completely based on midterms, but if you do all of the practice problems, you will be good. Make sure to go to the last class of 6C.
Online lectures available as supplemental material to refer back on! He's the best!
i love freund sooooo much!!!!! i need him just like fish needs water !!!!!!!!!
Really love Freund, such a fun professor and really teaches welllll!!!
Best professor in UCSB
I took all of his PHYS6 with no regret, and the only difference between the classes was the content. We know what to expect in class and grading is fair. He responds to students' questions quickly. I appreciate how amusing he is even though I did 6C online. Tests are important, but you will easily do well if you repeat module practice problems.
Funny guy and inspiring to students that as long as you show up and do the work given you'll be fine. Do his practice tests and there's no surprises on exams
This man is a king. No exams or final this quarter just quizzes and homework. Although online, lectures are as interesting as they are helpful. Geller is not only an extremely capable lecturer, but is overall just a nice, cool guy who cares about his students' success. I could not recommend him more, the best professor I've had at UCSB.
Truly one of the best prof's from UCSB. Is entertaining, engaging, makes lectures available online, and most importantly, actually teaches physics in an understandable manner!
