Explores how modern workplaces communicate with and through artificial intelligence (AI) and algorithmic systems. Topics include algorithmic management and surveillance, human-AI teamwork, impression management, and the boundaries between human agency and machine autonomy. Students create and use a custom AI chatbot for group activities, including assessing bias in AI and human hiring, evaluating human versus AI-generated content, and designing organizational AI policies. Drawing on course material and evidence from their chatbot interactions, students conclude with a research paper that makes recommendations for workplaces adopting AI and weighs the ethical and societal implications of AI use in organizations.
