Professor Moore is genuinely the greatest professor I've had in my 4 years at UCSB. She completely reignited my passion for the History major after a series of incredibly boring and tedious required courses. She is incredibly helpful, accommodating, and has great takes when it comes to the U.S.'s dark and problematic history.

HIST161A . Moore K A 7 Months Ago

she's really nice and understanding. took pass/fail as a GE but would've gotten an A. the assignments are a very reasonable amount of work, and the final was reasonable especially because she gave a useful study guide. overall learned a lot without having to put in too much work. lots of reading, but asking chat to summarize is usually good enough.

Take a course with her, genuinely nice and kind person who cares for her students but doesn't lose the crux of her intellectual curiosity. Will challenge you to think outside the box and engage with some seriously cool history.

this class had very long and kind of boring lectures, but you can tell she cares about the subjects. mandatory attendance and participation for sections and the papers weren't that hard.

HIST17A . Moore K A 1 Year, 8 Months Ago

Lectures long and honestly a bit boring. Class was easy and you just need to participate in section to get a good grade (30% of grade). Exams were take-home essays and not difficult to do. Probably wouldn't take again, but needed to for major credit.

I'm liberal, but Professor Moore takes it to an extreme. Most of the class is her complaining. To her, all George Washington is is a "brutal enslaver" and slave rebellions are the most important part of history. She even said the Haitian revolution was more important than the American and French ones. Don't take if there's anyone more left than you
