CollegeAll of a sudden just like that? Rest in peace Professor Cast. The fact she gave so much enthusiasm and help in every lecture makes it harder to accept she is gone. Very nice lady, always wanted to know her students input, gave us all the support we needed, and most importantly an amazing and kind hearted human.
Professor Cast was one of my favorite professor at UCSB. She was a very sweet, caring, and understanding professor who was always willing to help and listen to her students' words. I really enjoyed the way she lectured that I could being so engaged in all the classes I had with her. Rest in peace, Professor Cast.
Professor Cast is one of the best sociology professors at UCSB. 3 exams and 3 papers and its all based on everything she teaches. There will never be a question that she did not go over in class She is super sweet and opens up more office hours when its almost time for a test. You will read a lot but topics are interesting, great class overall
Absolute must to take a class with her. She is so intelligent and kind, and a super understanding professor. If you go to class there is no reason you shouldn't get an A
3 papers and 3 midterms total, very straightforward in format and grading. Very good with taking questions in lecture and helpful in office hours, she seems like a sweetheart. Informative class that busts a few family myths. Would definitely recommend.
Overall she is very nice and helpful. Even though attendance is not mandatory, you should still go to class and pay attention. If you get confused on material, ask questions. Readings are very important and should be taken seriously. These strategies will go along way in the class.
