DON'T TAKE BRUICE! She tries to teach a chapter a day. She moves wayyyyyy to fast. Take any1 else. Bruice sux! She doesn't curve, and doesnt give a**** if the average is an D.
I hate you. I hope you read this web page so you realize how bad of a teacher you are!!! Even with your horrible teaching style, impossible midterms, and absolute disregard for students, i still got a B in your class. HA HA
ok, here is the real scoop: she is a teacher that expects alot from her students, so if you go to class everyday , do your readings, blah blah blah you will do fine, BUT if your a half lazy **** like me, who waits til the last day, you better taking the other O-Chem prof (you will do much better)
Tests are pretty damn hard, better do all the hw. Exams have lots of problems. Lectures are basically her writing dozens of examples on board with you racing to copy them. Explains material really fast. Actually one of few good teachers in chem depart.. Can get really ****y though...
An awesome teacher. You'll have to work hard, but if you do the work, you'll do well on the test. DO ALL THE PROBLEMS! They'll be on the test. Good if you are trying to get ready for the MCAT.
She was not "great" as some students say. I had an A, A, and B+ with the B+ with Bruce for my 3rd qtrs of O-Chem...She injects of her feminism by saying why not "son stands" for "daughter strands." For O-chem, Practice on Pap
She knows her material yet her attitude needs a change. She favors her A+ students and blows off everyone else. She is very unapproachable and a terrible health advisor since advisors are supposed to be encouraging and courtious.
The best teacher you'll ever have. Lots of work but it's O-chem what else would you expect.

Yes, she is not very nice unless you're one of the handful of suckups who think she'll get you into med school (she's the health professions advisor). BUT, go to CLAS, get the old midterms/finals, and you're set. If not, major in psych instead.
She's disrespectful and only pays attention to her groupies. She doesn't listen to students who go to her for help because they aren't doing well, even if they've followed all of her recommendations for succeeding in her class.
liked her book, but she is stuck up and only likes people she thinks are going somewhere in life. thinks ochem is so easy and makes fun of people that don't get it.

Not helful! Makes fun of students who don't do well on her tests. Very unapproachable. Unclear lectures, but clear book (she worte it) and tests
Bruice's organic chemistry is clear, but there is a decent amount of work involved. The midterms are long, but predictable. There are no tricky questions: if you know the material you will do well.
entertaining lectures, very fair tests
I like her class and I like the way she teaches and tests. Yeah, it is hard, but if you work hard it will pay off. And, if you take the chance to get to know her she is a very nice person.
she's cool, funny and she brings her dog to class
Tough.
Shes cool
ochem is hard, and she only likes the students who get A's in her classes
Hard but fair
Dr. Bruice acts like ochem is the easiest subject one can take, and it is not. This reflects on her attitude when lecturing. Her recommended study technique is to read everything nine times.
