Go to class and really pay attention to everything he says outside of the slides and it will help you fully understand the material. He also says a bunch of things in class that will be on the test. Don't expect much when you ask for help in his office hours; biggest waste of time. Overall, go to class and read, he won't help you outside of it.
Anderson is a very good lecturer. If you go to class and pay attention, you will learn a lot and probably like the guy. His tests are fair and based off WileyPlus. If you do the readings, a lot of practice problems for the chapters in ORION and practice the exercises in each chapter (Both of which are in WileyPlus), you will do great.
Prof Anderson is full of himself. His classes are boring, this is my third class with him. He is not available outside of his office hours, don't even try. I've had incredible econ professors here at UCSB. Bob isn't one of them
One of the best... makes accounting fun.
Full of himself, not helpful during office hours
Makes accounting SO clear. Could not have asked for a better professor for an intro class. Go to lecture, he makes everything so much easier. The only thing standing in your way is the Econ curve, but hey if you're taking this class - you've asked for it!
The lectures are really helpful and he explains everything really concise. He makes accounting fun but make sure not to skip his class because he could say random facts that would be on the midterm. Make sure to do his practice tests because some questions repeat and make sure you know the concepts of accounting.
He's a cool guy but don't skip lecture and don't forget to read. The exams are ridiculously specific for fill in the blanks.
i dont understand how can people give him low rating. he gives amazing lectures! i get up time for his 8 am class. his tests are easy if you GO TO his lectures and pay attention. i've learned so much from him and its only half way through the quarter. im sad that i wont be taking 3B with him. he made accounting easy to understand! will take again!
Professor Anderson is an amazing professor. Very clear and concise lectures. Tests are fair and cover all material from lecture so go to lecture! He is a very laidback and interesting guy!
Wonderful guy with lots of experience in public accounting. Go to lecture and read the textbook before lecture. Accounting is cumulative so as long as you understand everything from the beginning you will be fine. Got an A in the class (with the curve) without much cram studying.
I really enjoyed going to Bobs class, aside from the fact that it's 8am. He tells great stories and is clear. Lecture isn't mandatory but Id recommend it because his slides online are pretty dry and it's smart to take notes on what he's saying about them. Intense memorization for this class, no real accounting. You learn about auditing but not fun
The material of this class is not difficult, what makes it difficult is the competitiveness. Anderson stresses the subjects that will be on the test therefore, there are no surprises. Overall, A great professor.
i dont know what to say i study every single past tests and still did horrible on the tests im pretty sure i know all the material just by reading the book and learning on my own however he put lots of questions on what he lectured in class and since its an 8am i rarely go so no matter how hard i study by myself his teaching is not helping at all
Has the worst OH of any prof here (not just the fact its at 7am) opposes helping you study material b/f covered in class, doesn't want to help you with homework, what are OH for then? Apparently only for people in accounting projects who are not enrolled in his class..
Really clear and makes his lectures relevant and ties them into real-life events. Great professor
The class was interesting for me and Bob is a great teacher. He loves relating accounting principles to his own company, which is helpful in understanding how things work. I received B+'s on both midterms and bombed the final. I ended up with a C+ in the class although I feel my knowledge of the class is not properly reflected by my grade.
Lectures are interesting but make sure you go to section to actually learn how to do the problems you get tested on. Anderson mostly just goes over concepts but he is a cool guy and I learned a lot from him.
I really liked this class. Anderson was funny and did a good job clarifying the material in the book. Also, I had a really good TA who did an awesome job of explaining concepts. The class is difficult but only because you need to be super detail oriented as in some cases, one small error can completely throw off all of your answers.
He is a really good teacher and will keep the lectures entertaining. This class got me really interested in accounting. The class is relatively easy except the curve got me and when I thought I would get an A, I actually got a B. But other than that, i enjoyed it
Best teacher ever!! i didnt miss not one day of this class. hes a great speaker so i never get bored in class and he knows the material well. although he goes off on tangents sometimes, hes funny and wont test material that hasnt been taught. Loved this class
A horrible teacher, AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. Trust me, if you really want to get a good grade while majoring in accounting, avoid him and find another teacher. Studied his past midterms, readings, lectures, and I still got a low D in the end. If you take him, be prepared, he will give you a real hard time, and he won't even look at your effort.
Worst accounting teacher I had ever have. His method of teaching is almost useless, his lectures are horrible, and the method of actually studying for either the midterm or final is impossible to actually dicern; studying past midterms and doing the reading will result a C. Bob will likley discourage you from ever taking a carrer in accounting.
I became very interested in accounting after this course. However, the curve for this econ class was especially ridiculous. It was even said that he had to make the 2nd midterm and final a lot more difficult because most of the class did reall ywell on the 1st midterm and he had to round people down. Cool professor though, long boards to lecture.
