Reading textbook is much more useful than attending lectures. Class time was always wasted by him, talking about his own personal experiences but not the course materials. The exams are hard. The average for midterm was 67%, and average for final was 58%. There is no curve, so I expect the class average is C+ or C.

Great choice if you are trying to get into the world of accounting. His lectures are insightful and useful for exams, which are all online. Does spend a lot of time on tangents if he gets into one so self-studying is key.

He is an engaging professor but the tests were ridiculously hard midterm and final. Most of the class failed with a 55% average on midterm. His tests very a very upscale hard version of his homework. He is nice, but the amount of material was good, but tests were unprepared. Do not recommend unless you need the class.

Bob is probably my favorite professor at UCSB so far. I changed my major from Econ to Econ and Acc, and once I took 3A with Bob, I knew I made the right decision. He is very knowledgeable about real estate, the stock market, and ofc accounting. While he does go off track during lectures, his stories have good life lessons. ASK QUESTIONS in class!!

Took this course during Winter 2021. Bob is awesome in getting students ready for real-life accountings. He talks about what he will put on the exam during after lecture time so make sure u stay behind. Exams are never unexpected. HW is manageable. One easy midterm and one easier final. He helps students to plan their careers as well. Great Prof.

There's double lectures to watch every week (one zoom and one for the textbook chapter) along with homework or a quiz due every day of the week. Median for the midterm was around 50% with no curve. Always makes the excuse that he's "preparing us for the real world" and is extremely full of himself (won't stop bragging)

This class has a heavy workload: normally 2-3quizzes a week plus some homework, in midterm week you have a midterm and three quizzes and some homework.... Also there is few interactions with the class and Professor, all of the lectures are pre recorded and there is no necessary zoom meetings.

He's somehow tough but in a caring way, kinda like my dad. Very practical teaching and I am glad to have taken his class.

Bob's online class is great! DO take the online course. The homework and quizzes are easy and worth 70% of your total grade. The content of this course is not hard. Excel is extremely important in this course and manage your time well when taking the exams. The above two are crucial to your success in this course!

I ended up really liking Bob. knew nothing about audit going in, but put in a decent/usual amount of work and got an A. He actually made me more interested in audit and I enjoyed his personal stories. The only thing I did poorly on was the simulation assignment, I didn't really feel like there was clear instruction on how to do it. maybe the point

I took his class as a junior already in the econ department just to learn about accounting and I really enjoyed it. Bob explains the material well and interacts well with his students during zoom. He keeps it real and is hard but is fair and helpful. I could see as a freshman this class it would be hard but once you take other classes its not bad

If you're looking for an easy class this isn't it. The material itself isn't too difficult, but you need to have mastered the material to do well on quizzes and finals. He's very strict which is good in a way since he offers valuable real-world advice, but there is no sympathy or slacking allowed in this class. Don't fall behind!

This guy is a decent professor but at the end of the day hes not coming through for the student when you most need him. He lacks integrity and compassion and for those reasons Im out.

Bob can be strict and mean at times, but he isn't a horrible guy. The homework and quizzes aren't too bad. The first exam was difficult and given in an unreasonable amount of time, but he was more reasonable on the final. He gives out a lot of tips during lecture on how to be efficient during the exams so I would attend those.

Exam 2 was told two days before, and he never answers your questions clearly. Also, he focuses on a lot of outside material rather than explains the actual lecture material. He talks too much about his anecdote, and it's a waste of time to listen. BE PREPARED TO USE EXCEL!!!!!!

He is absolutely not caring for students, and he expects us to be professional accountants like he does. Exam 1 was an impossible exam to complete due to limited time. I can't believe that there is no curve for a class with an average of 45.3%. If any class has this average, professors should reflect on the class's teaching structure.

I took this class because it was a major requirement but after taking this class, I don't even think imma make it in. Quizzes were doable but were nothing compared to the exam. I'm paying money to learn the material, not how the real world works. This class will make or break you.

Did not manage the transition to online class well at all. Lectures are double headers, one is recorded and goes over the textbook and the other one is an hour of him being completely off topic from the material. Class average was a 50% on the midterm, he wouldn't curve and its Monday of finals week and he only just now told us the date/time

Near end of the class and wouldn't recommend, or if you need 3A make sure rest of schedule is easy. As an example the average on midterm was less than 50 percent and no curve. Finals in 2 days, and haven't been told the time or platform it'll be on. Says he want to prepare you for real world, but you need good grades to get a job in the real world.

He pretends not to be mean but he is an extremely mean person! He gives midterm in a time range which is impossible to complete, never answer your question clearly and tells you to look it up in the syllubus. He expect you to be a professional experienced accountant like he think himself is and deal with real life problem. Worst professor ever!

Bob Anderson does not like to put in the work to make sure exams are graded fairly by using the excuse of the "real world" and computer "impartiality." He can not respond to emails without being condescending either.

Bob Anderson exceeded my standards of how bad a professor can be. He waste time with useless anecdotes during class, refuses to change grading error for quizzes that weigh 60%, neglects the different circumstances his students may be going through, and makes tests ridiculously different from the usual quizzes making it near impossible to finish.

He is an amazing professor. Harsh but fair. His lecture is clear and well-articulated. But the class by no means is easy, he'll make you work for your grade. Very quiz heavy rather than exam (class taken online during COVID 19 )
