Very long and unclear instructions in labs. Never there.

Dogic is one of the worst professors ever (he is new). He has zero teaching skills and his lectures are messy and disorganized. Chicken scratch handwriting and not a great lecturer. Go to CLAS, self study, and watch videos because you will not understand anything. The test is pretty easy though compared to others. He himself is super nice though.

Not sure if DOGIC will teach 6 series or any other physics class; nonetheless, here are my thoughts. Physics 6 can be a difficult course and to do well a lot has to be done independently regardless of the professor. Doigc did a good job of teaching and making the material clear and was very accessible outside of class considering his research.

The homework is very challenging, but you learn a lot from it for his exams. Dogic can be confusing during lecture at times, so it's important to pay close attention. It's not an easy class, but doable. This was his first year teaching at UCSB so I think he's still learning how to teach at such a big public school.

Has zero teaching skill and is highly unpredictable with curving. Midterm averages were the lowest I've ever seen, and thats WITH open textbooks and a note sheet. Do yourself a favor and find another teacher, even if it means holding off on taking this course for a quarter

Really great guy. Homework is a lot harder than test material and all questions for homework are on Chegg. Doesn't use lecture slides but posts the notes for each chapter. Tries really hard to help his students in office hours. I loved the class. Funny professor and if you pay attention you'll do well in the class.

Dogic is an amazing person, but not a great professor. Homework is impossible without chegg. Average for our first midterm exam was a 57. No powerpoint slides. Teaches strictly off the chalkboard.

Loved being in Dogic's class, he's really funny with a friendly presence and always getting laughs. Wish I could take him for the next course. I used chegg with the homework assignments, and went to lecture. I found the study material for exams to be very helpful, and did well on the tests. Also, fun to look at.

Pretty sure he does not check what he assigns for homework. Nearly impossible w/o some resource like chegg. Goes over basic concepts during class, which are still not explained that well with his chicken scratch handwriting. I'd recommend doing CLAS and studying outside of class. Horrible professor, nice guy.

Doesnt really teach anything, just wastes a lot of time and gives impossible homework. Tests arent too hard but definitely study outside of class a lot and go to CLAS or get a tutor. If its any consolation, his dad jokes are impeccable and lighten the mood when the average test score was a 54%. Good guy, very poor teacher

As of you reading this, I do not have grades yet. It is 4 weeks into the following quarter.

This was a difficult course. However, Fygenson set fair exams and there was plenty of opportunity to collect credit through doing all the homeworks. She was also very happy to help whenever we had problems with the course material. There was also an assessed essay - unusual for a physics course - but nontheless very interesting in the end.

terrible professor. she does not know the course material very well and cannot seem to answer student questions. avoid this teacher at ALL COSTS. makes lectures mandatory as well and yet it is pointless to go to them because she does not know how to teach

Grades were due two days ago to the office of registrar, she hasn't submitted them yet. Very unorganized, explanations in lecture are very confusing, doesn't know what she's doing. Overall terrible professor, but seems nice outside of class/lecturing duties. still hate her tho lol

Terrible professor. Spends most of the lecture answering questions you posted for homework, and barely any time explaining the equations and how you use them effectively. Would not recommend this teacher to anyone. You're forced to attend her lectures because of iClicker questions that count for your grades.

Horrible teacher. When we went over her exams in class there were about 4 questions she couldn't even figure out. Extremely unhelpful and inflexible. Was not understanding when I missed an exam because I was very sick. Zero social skills. Not a good lecturer. Don't take her class.

Extremely bad with returning grades. Decent lecturer. Overall pretty average class with her.

The best thing about her were her demonstrations. Midterms were challenging and she NEVER returns anything on time. She didn't return the first midterm until the day before the final! Grades were due yesterday and she still hasn't uploaded them. Overall not a bad teacher and she will take the time to understand your questions before answering.

My goodness, the previous reviews for her do not lie. In-class demonstrations worked out nicely this quarter. Her midterms are very challenging, just like the homework. While other physics teachers had very direct and basic applications of concepts on their midterms, Fygenson's midterms require a bit more thinking, which can throw people off.

I came in this quarter thinking fygenson was going to be horrible b/c of rmp. However, she is not at all like every1 claims. 1) she does allow calc on her exams tho not needed 2) her lectures are useful and her problems are EXACTLY like the hw 3) her tests are hard but she offers extra credit exams later 4) she may not curve but she makes 55% a C

I learned 95% material by reading the book. Her lecture is amateurish. The following scene usually happens: A student asks a question. She walks back and forth and silence in the lecture for a couple minutes. She gives an answer. The student is not satisfied, and keeps asking for more clarification."I will get back to u" she says.

The material wasn't inherently difficult, but a lot of her test questions didn't make any sense and she wouldn't allow calculators. A lot of people in the class called her out and told her that the midterm was too long and too difficult, but she didn't seem to want to admit that she was at fault. Overall bad at teaching, disorganized, stubborn.

This class is absolutely ridiculous. She does not teach and is only concerned about cheating. She spends so much time on assigning seats during exams and it takes her weeks to email out test scores. She cannot get aything right, whether it is concepts on her powerpoints or the seating assignment in class. The final exam as impossible and unfair.

nice lady outside of class, awful teacher. made so many mistakes on lecture examples and on the TESTS! Awful administration of the midterm. how hard is it to pass out tests efficiently!?? refused flat out to provide a practice test for the final. very set in her ways.
