SPAN 186VM - Language and Law
Looks at the situation of speakers of majority and minority languages and their linguistic rights in different contexts and countries. Specifically, the course looks at the situation of Spanish speakers in the US, but also in Mexico and Spain. Other topics in the course are linguistic profiling, forensic linguistics, and legal translation/interpreting.
