SPAN 102HS - Introduction to Hispanic Studies

Introduces students to key concepts, methods, and debates in Hispanic Studies, with a focus on literature, media, cultural production, and historical contexts from Spain, Latin America, and U.S. Latinx communities. Students learn to analyze texts and cultural artifacts using interdisciplinary approaches, including cultural studies, history, and critical theory. The course provides a foundation for upper-division coursework and strengthens analytical, writing, and research skills in Spanish. Taught in Spanish.

Prerequisites: Spanish 16B or Spanish 25 or consent of instructor.
