Interdis. Program in Quantitative Biosci - IQB

Cell mechanobiology topics including cell structure, mechanical models, and chemo-mechanical signaling. Review methods for controlling and analyzing the biomechanics of cells using traction force microscopy, AFM, micropatterning, and cell stimulation. Weekly lecture with final project in the form of a research proposal.

Prerequisites: The course assumes an engineering background but is structured to be accessible to graduate students in life sciences who have a strong physics and math background, and to engineering graduate students with basic biology knowledge.
