Interdisciplinary - INT

An exploration of traditional and contemporary earthen building materials including cob, adobe, rammed earth, straw bale, hempcrete, and timber-frame construction. Students examine historical global use and modern applications of these sustainable materials while learning to evaluate thermal performance, cost, labor, and basic site planning principles.

Prerequisites: Upper-division standing.
