FAMST 187SS - Topics in Film and Television Analysis:Adaptation Studies: Screening Shakespeare
This seminar investigates how to study screen adaptations, focusing on Shakespeare, arguably the most adapted author. Film and TV-focused topics covered include intertextuality, critical race theory (#ShakeRace), and queer theory. Screenings may include: Haider, Romeo + Juliet, Game of Thrones.
Prerequisites: Film studies 46 or upper-division standing, and consent of instructor.
