Collegefound the way he structured and organized the course confusing. he had weekly reading reflections due on mondays, but on the course calendar the due dates were always on tuesday. if you turned the reflection in on tuesday then you would get half credit. that's just one example.
Same structure as his other classes. 2 papers midterm and final. The TA for this class was such a nice grader. Online quizzes on reading. If you need a relatively easy class take one with him.
fun professor, really enjoyed his lectures and humor. the class wasn't super easy but it definitely wasn't hard. about 5 reading quizzes which were probably the most difficult thing in the course but you could pass if you read abstracts and skimmed. 2 papers that were doable, i would take another class with him
The professor and TA are tough graders. 5 learning checks, 1 Midterm paper, 6/10 reflections you have to answer and 1 Final paper/ Infographic. Attend class to be prepared for the learning checks. Professor has no slides or notes, just talks and you have to make your own notes. I am a visual learner so this was tough. Professor was cool though.
Great lectures, all course material and structure is laid out well. He cares about his course and expands on a wide breathe of histories and cultures, you have a good mix of media and writing assignments with weekly quiz/checkpoints. You can get a lot out of this class if you give him the time and use your right hemisphere sometimes.
2 writing assignments (1 reflection 1 midterm), 5 discussion posts (out of a possible 8), 4 quizzes on lecture and films, and a group final. Grading on writing assignments can be a little tough but overall, very great professor. Final is a group object where you pick what you do.
