CollegeProfessor Ahuja is a good lecturer and funny, however sometimes lectures could get long and boring. No devices are allowed in class. Readings are mandatory and quite long, but they do help with understanding. Sections and grading across TA's are starkly different. There are 2 midterms and 1 final, but he's clear about what concepts will be on them.
Prof. Ahuja is very passionate and knowledgeable about political science. Lecture could get boring, but he has a good sense of humor and engages with the class by setting aside time for questions. I appreciate that he was clear about what would be on the tests. Readings were somewhat long but manageable. Not a difficult class if you put in effort.
He seems like a very kind instructor but the length & amount of readings is ridiculous. Your grade is fully from exams which are kinda hard to prepare for as the lectures aren't very engaging & there aren't any other assignments to balance out your grade. Not trying to be rude, does seem nice, but I honestly wouldn't reccomend his classes
Honest review here. One of the most boring professors I've taken yet. It's an hour 15 of him talking, no phones no laptops. 2 midterms 1 final and that's your grade. Readings are insanely long and boring, you're better off taking strat and that says a lot. Not trying to be mean but I think these reviews are by people who are trying to be nice..
I calculated the reading to be ~2000 pages for a 10 week quarter. Unrealistic. Undoable
One of the most knowledgable professors I have taken at UCSB! Midterm and final in person and weren't super easy. Be sure to read the textbook, attend lectures, and take notes! Isn't an easy A but I feel like I learned so much from him! He is super funny too.
