CollegeI've had two full Global courses with Lezra; I honestly don't know how she is an upper-division professor for the Global department, she really upset a lot of her students and I feel it's a little unprofessional that she's the ONLY professor the teaches the required courses to graduate in my major. Extremely unorganized and tests didn't make sense.
For the love of all things good DO NOT take a class with this professor. She is disorganized, goes on rants instead of actually teaching, and is extremely strict with everything. Every Monday there were quizzes and every Wednesday there were writing prompts. Midterm was easy, oral exam. Final was ridiculously hard and did not make sense.
Apparently her large lectures get bad ratings but for a small 20 person discussion class I loved her. She guided conversations in a way that was helpful to analyzing larger themes of class. She is very encouraging in office hours and has a lot of respect for her students. I still remember a lot from our class and overall she is just a nice lady!
She is fascinating, intelligent & One of the best professors I've had at UCSB. The work that is expected is valuable and it is a lot. She is the most available professor in terms of office hours, emai, and skype office hours. She creates an atmosphere for discussion that is inviting and safe. You will be challenged intellectually. totally worth it
she is very pasionate
Somehow the easiest class I've ever had, but the only global class I've ever gotten a B in. Doesn't give interesting or retainable information, lectures (if they even happen) are just jargon. Graded on a couple written assignment with easy guidelines but they are graded based on things we weren't aware of. She is nice at least, but don't take.
