I took this as a comm major and don't regret it. Your grade is based on a midterm, final, attendance, and participation in section. You are able to use a 1pg cheat sheet and are given a study guide beforehand with potential test questions. Lectures are *key* for this class - I would write down EVERYTHING she says, and what is said in section.

BEST professor at UCSB. Not only does she make difficult material, simple and understandable, but she makes it interesting as well. Class is well-organized. Her lectures are organized as well. She is clear on what she expects from you in the course. Second time taking a class with her and I can say she is my favorite professor at UCSB.

Prof. Falasca-Zamponi is seriously one of the best SOC professors at this school. She made extremely difficult material seem extremely easy, and is extremely open to questions and student discussion in lecture. There are weekly summaries of the readings, which were helpful, and a midterm and final which are easy if you've attended class. Love her!!
