CollegeGraded on attendance (req.), participation (5%), reading quizzes (20%), midterm exam (20%), term paper (8-10 pgs; 30%) and cumulative final exam (25%). It's an eccentric topic taught by an eccentric prof., but it was a ton of fun! Jarrett loves long-winded class discussions and he's very receptive to students' interpretations. Love the guy!
Class structure keeps you engaged, and the lectures are great. You cannot get behind, though; there is a lot of ground to cover, but if you keep up, it's a really fun class. Strongly recommend taking a class from hum
He has a wonderful personality (very funny guy) and made lectures super interesting. Expectations were made extremely clear and despite a somewhat heavy workload, success was achievable with effort. The course itself was super interesting too.
LOVE Prof. Jarrett!!!! His lectures are unskippable they're so funny and informative. He really expects a lot from his students and his class material reflects that. He grades harshly on tests and they're built to be concise, so you can't BS them, but he often curves to help students. Transparent and great, you'll "PARTY" in his class!!!!
Fantastic prof, genuinely the funniest guy on campus, relatively difficult compared to others and demands more from his students. His classes are real preparations for academic study in phil, they demand attentive reading and ability to digest and grasp abstract content. Phil 143 is fantastic. There's a reason all his courses are popular.
Jarrett was great - demanding, very interesting, and fair. Very talkative and a lot of information (not just from him but just the course content too), so you have to go to lectures, take notes, and there are reading quizzes. Graded on 3 tests and a paper, so you have to study a lot and well but can improve your grade as the quarter goes on.
