Graded by two papers, midterm, and final exam. Exams were definitely tricky, so study up and ask questions. Definitely attend lecture, as slides alone aren't enough to be prepared for the exams. She's super caring, kind, and accessible. Grading criteria is clear for papers, and asking the TA for help is a good way to be prepared.
Dr. Afifi is great! She cares a lot about her students. We had a midterm and a final (non cumulative) and two essays.
She really cares about her students, papers and tests questions are fair, she makes her lectures easy to follow
Professor Afifi was amazing for Family Comm!!! I learned so much in this course about the family dynamic, parent-child relationship development, and gained a lot of useful tips for healthy/happy relationships. Best and most beneficial Comm class in my opinion. Take this course!
Took her on last summer. The class content is super interesting, and her lectures are great.
Best professor I've ever had, hands down. I never leave reviews but I just had to for Afifi. If you have the chance to take any of her classes, do it! Her lectures are relatable and applicable in real life. She's super nice and you can tell she's really passionate about what she does!
