CollegeHe isn't the worst professor but it was hard to feel organized in this class. I honestly forgot that I was even enrolled in this class at times because he posts units and quizzes way later. Quizzes could be taken multiple times for the highest grade which was super nice. He's nice and seems to care about his students. Just felt disorganized.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. WASTE OF TIME. He is definitely one of the awful professors at UCSB. Took ASAM133 during the pandemic, an how he operates an online course was terrible at all. Boring lectures, delayed quizzes.
HE IS AMAZING!!! He is more than happy to help you outside of class during office hours and is patient and elaborate if you are ever confused (I literally always was). He's honestly super chill and, yes, the readings can stack up, but it's very doable and his lectures really help clarify things. He is fair and ultimately wants everyone to succeed!
Professor Ben is, by far, one of the nicest, kindest, most caring professors I have ever had. I took the course for GE credit (truly if you show up and submit the assignments, it is really really hard to do poorly) and ended up absolutely loving him and the course. Can't recommend him enough- he's genuinely a wonderful person!
Prof. Z is so approachable and really cares about his class and students. Class is graded on participation and 3 essays that are 60 or 80% of your grade. He posts grading clear criteria and provides opportunities to regain points back with him in office hours. He gives amazing feedback on how to score the correct points. Best GE I have taken here.
Pro Zulueta is very approachable and genuinely cares for the success of his students. although the course could be organized better, it's truly the professors who care about their students that makes it worth it to attend class. He's also very reachable outside of class to answer questions and of course, assist you during office hours.
