One of the best history classes I have taken at UCSB!! Wasn't really into civil war before this class and kinda just wanted to take it for my minor, but his lectures totally changed my perceptions :) The essays weren't easy, but going to his OH definitely helps to clarify his expectations. Really hope he could teach more upper div history classes!!

Majewski is fantastic, had him for 17B as well and immediately signed up when I saw he was teaching. Great lecturer, clearly very kind and cares about his students. Great option for History majors and those who need an American History GE.

Majewski is very knowledgable and evidently passionate about the Civil War. I found some grading feedback to be vague and criteria to be unclear but he is willing to help if you have questions. Definitely go to office hours, he gave up to 3.5 points extra on the final which is out of 30 points. Would take again.

Majewski is my all-time favorite History professor! As a HPPL major a lot of my classes can feel boring and unengaging at times as the lectures aren't interesting but I show up to all of his classes because he is such a great speaker. The reading isn't necessary but helps make writing the papers a lot easier. Also can turn in notes for extra credit

Majewski is one of the best professors I've had in the history department. His lectures are really organized, and he speaks so you're able to get down the powerpoint slides AND what he's talking about. Reading was also really interesting. As long as you go to class and study the midterm questions he gives you, you're golden.
