Student groups design a significant computer-based project. The focus in this course will be on the integration of both hardware and software components. Students continue to work in groups. Apart from project reports and presentations, the evaluation will be based on successful demonstration of both hardware and software aspects of the project.

CollegeFantastic overall course. The engagement Yoga demonstrates, as well as the effort he puts into recruiting companies, is absolutely fantastic. I hear overall better sentiment towards the CE capstone than the EE capstone for example.
While the subject is definitely not my strength or passion, Professor Isukapalli does a great job of teaching embedded systems fundamentals. I think his organization is very good and I appreciate the lecture slides/format. Also, the iClicker questions are good at making sure you are actually retaining the lecture material!
Excellent professor! I second the opinion below, TESLA interview-70% questions from this course. Highly recommended.
Most useful course I have taken at UCSB. I had two interviews in embedded systems this month and many questions were from the material in this course. Very well taught. Exam questions were similar to homework problems. Labs take time but you will learn a lot!
Most time consuming course I've ever taken (plan out your schedule carefully). He's too fast in lecture for me. Lots of information in slides; it's all tested on exams, and optional homeworks. Exams = no partial credit. Labs are difficult & weekly. Final project is a pain as well. You need to understand the topics REALLY well if you want high grade
