Social innovation and social entrepreneurship describe novel approaches to tackling complex social problems. Platforms and emerging technologies offer new possibilities for action. We adopt the perspectives of various actors (individual, non-profits, entrepreneurial companies, large companies, and governments) engaged in social innovation processes, debating the benefits, challenges, and trade-offs associated with their participation. The highly interactive class involves case studies, experiential exercises, and student presentations.
