CollegeI never interacted with Professor Pazos because she doesn't teach. My TA was very helpful, but I found the course expectations unclear. The lab report rubrics lacked detail, which made grading feel inconsistent between TAs. The final exam was hard, and we received no guidance on how to study. The workload felt high for a 2.5-unit course.
Labs were simple, but final tanked my grade because you have zero knowledge on what could be on the final (including the TAs). Very very defensive about her average.
Was worried to take this class because I took gen chem two years ago. This class was easier than my other lab classes. It was cool to meet a Latina chemistry professor. She was very kind and provided a lot of advice.
2BL is a lot harder than 2AL and your experience is based on your TA. My BL TA was great and gave feedback but my AL ta was not approachable. Communicated with professor via email and she was helpful and nice.
Halfway through the quarter she told the TAs to grade more harshly because the average was too high and it needed to be 87%. Her emails are passive aggressive, I do not think she likes her students. The final was a week earlier than the related gen chem series and was very difficult. Insane amount of time for so little units. Fun labs tho.
Lab was fine because my TA was good, but zero instruction or guidance for the final, which tanked my grade. I had a notecard for the final, but didn't get to use it once because I studied all the wrong things. She will curve you down so expect a B
