CollegeShe was very nice but we are not able to see our grade until it is submitted on the last day so its hard to know what to work harder at. Midterm and Final are the only major grades so you have to do good on those. Hard to hear her lectures sometimes so sit in the front.
Boring to listen to during lecture. For the midterm and final she gives you the questions that will actually be on it and you get to bring in a cheat sheet. But because of this, it is graded pretty intensely. 2 forum posts and replies due by week ten
this class had so much potential but i was really let down. the material is interesting but the delivery is so boring and filled with awkward pauses its hard to stay engaged. she also does not speak loudly so good luck taking notes if you sit too far back. midterm and final need lots of preparation but knowing the questions beforehand helps a ton.
It makes me sad to see the reviews for Professor Falasca; she was one of the best professors that I took at UCSB. There are 2 assignments: a midterm and the final exam, which she gives you the questions for before so you can prepare yourself. If you answer all the questions, you will pass the test with an A.
This professor doesn't seem invested at all. she reads off a sheet of paper in a monotone voice. this subject could be very interesting but it's not. tests only based on readings, not lectures and she never goes over those dense readings in class. TA was a really tough grader I did all readings and my friend did not however she did better than me.
Class was straight forward & easy to understand. Professor Falasca gives amazing lectures that are informational but not dense and connect very well with the readings. She never goes on tangents, she comes prepared to teach! Graded on one short written assignment, a 2 short essay midterm and 3 short essay final. Reading was very manageable!
