CollegeGardner is a very nice person, but she is not a very good lecturer. Her lectures are SO dense, it's best to watch the recorded lectures from home. Her exams are not based on your knowledge, but rather, how FAST you can regurgitate semi-related concepts in hopes of at least getting partial credit. Take advantage of regrade requests after exams!
One of those professors you aren't scared to approach. Brooke was super accessible and wanted students to learn. Go to office hours and read the textbook, exams are hard theres a reason you get a cheat sheet. This is upper division so don't expect it to be easy, but if you put in the work you'll do well.
her lectures were awful, she went through the slides so quickly and did not equip us on how to do well on the exam. The worksheets were ridiculous and i would never take her again. There was a large discontinuity on what she taught in class versus what was on the worksheets
Brook Gardner was an ok lecturer. I think some people are too hard on the way that she teaches, I found that I enjoyed the style of lecturing and was able to access many resources outside the class that would help in the course. The tests were difficult but very doable. She is very accessible and has great TA's. You need to use your resources well
She went through some slides pretty quickly, but I liked her sense of humor and how she didn't make the class feel like JUST pure tests. As a transfer student and comparing her to other courses I've taken this year, I definitely miss her side formats, teaching style, and her TAs.
This is a hard course. Gardner doesn't always explain the slides clearly in lecture, so make sure to go to TA sections.
