CollegeSuch a cool guy, definitely cares about what he is teaching. Lecture isn't mandatory. Only two assignments throughout the course, which was the midterm and final which were both in person essays. So make sure you do good on those. Pretty manageable class to take. Highly recommend.
Went to class once or twice. Pandya seemed chill and explained the main themes of the class, which was helpful. Even interacts with students in the audience. Overall very TA-heavy class. Took it as a P/NP GE which was perfect for time optimization—no attendance and no homework, just exams and discussion sections. Shoutout to Munira, great TA.
He likes to hear himself talk. The class kind of rejects critical thinking, he tells you exactly what he wants you to think about the content, which I don't really like. His slideshows are really bad. He's not a bad teacher though, he does want everyone to understand the content and do well.
I really enjoyed Professor Pandya's class. The only homework was the readings, and your grade is based on section attendance, midterm, and final which are both three essay questions. It is not mandatory to attend the lectures but I would recommend you go and because that is where he talks about the themes and everything that's on the tests.
loved this class and Professor Pandya so much. There was a midterm and a final, both like 3 essay questions. Super predictable questions and all themes heavily discussed in class. Pandya was super knowledgeable and his perspectives were super interesting to hear. Love how the readings built off each other, culminated together beautifully.
I took AS AM 168, but it's not an option cause it a new class. Professor Pandya is by far one of the best professors I've had at this school. He is an extremely intelligent and inspiring Professor. There were only 3-4 papers and attendance/participation as a grade. If you have any chance to take one of his classes I'd jump at it.
