无病呻吟
Graded by Section Attendance/Participation, Midterm, Final (each 3 short answer ques). Readings were not as disturbing as people are making them out to be. Nuanced content, interesting to learn about. Only issue is Pandya would say he would post lectures after Wed. lectures, but would post them inconsistently; into the next week when we moved on
He is a nice person. His class was involved and interesting, but this class is not that easy.
Professor Pandya is an eloquent, intelligent teacher, and I enjoyed the readings for his class. A lot of it is very abstract however, and so are his exam questions. Definitely graded harder than I thought it would be, so wouldn't recommend taking as a GE. Only 2 things (2 essays) go in the grade book, and section attendance is VERY mandatory.
Can't really appreciate this kind of literature class, feeling quite uncomfortable with some of the contents and views. Choose another department gets class for ethnicity requirement if you can.
Does not post lecture slides online and the lecture slides are text heavy!! I think if you do all the reading, go to lectures, and put effort into studying you should get an A (especially in a GE) but apparently not in this class. I would take P/NP if I were you. Or just not take this class.
I relied on just reading the material on my own outside of class. No slides online. Take pictures of slides if you go. Took the class P/NP. Hated this subject. Thought the readings were disturbing af. Section was 35% of grade and 3 absences was an automatic fail. There are section quizzes. Straightforward professor and exams.
