Professor Park is so passionate and knowledgeable about this class, which really helped me absorb the information. Attendance is not mandatory; he records lectures and posts slides. His office hours are also extremely helpful! The section is also optional, but you have to notify him of your opt-out if you choose that route.

Professor Park is very passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. He assigns a lot of readings which can be difficult to understand and complete. 2 midterms and 1 final which are all in person written essay exams. Pretty difficult class but worthwhile subject

The two midterms + final are all in-person timed writes (two timed essays for the final), so beware. I definitely struggled because timed writes aren't my strong suit, but he is truly a nice guy who knows his material in and out. Heavy on reading, which you actually have to do because he expects you to reference them in your essays.

I started off poorly in Professor Park's class because I didn't cite readings. While I felt discouraged at first, I enjoyed his lectures and found the subject engaging. Once I went to his office hours I saw how easy it was to succeed if you do the readings for understanding. I ended up going from a B- to an A in the class.

I really liked this class. I took ASAM130 and it was very reading heavy (like a book every two weeks), but his lectures were interesting and he posted all the lecture audio and slide so you could miss class. I was expecting him to be a harsher grader but he was more generous. Very interesting and knowledgable professor as well.
