This was the only class at UCSB where I absolutely never went. I missed more classes than I went to and got an A. If you took ESS 3, you can take this class and just show up for the tests and boost your GPA.

Good professor. Very interesting and obviously knows her stuff. Tests were a breeze. As an English major, I was amazed that I got A's on her exams. Don't be afraid to take for a letter grade. I wish I had.

Class is very biological (which I did not expect) and it can be frustrating. She goes off on tangents and says "uhh" waaay too much...lecture can be boring, but you need to go! I recommend AS Notes and TA disussions help ALOT! Study and go to office hours.

Her son is allwed to have his dessert cereal after he eats his green veggies. His favorite is Capitan Crunch! Does that sound interesing to you? If it does definatly take this class. UHHHHH and UHHHHH it will put you into a coma. Get AS notes!

what took her 75 min to say could be said in 15. lectures didnt match tests, very boring, vague, likes to digress (i can tell you more about her family than biology) she uses a bell curve (boo). think weight watcher meeting "looking around, it seems most of you dont need to lose more than 10 pounds"

UM, UH, UM, UHHH....be prepared for lots of them.

not a great morning class. she's so boring and lacks rhetorical skills. says "uh" every other word and it can get annoying. Her tests are so specific, but her lectures are all over the place.

very very boring teacher. you don't know what to take notes on because she is so broad then the tests are really specific. get the AS notes then don't even bother showing up to class.

Definitely hates cell phones, but has a lot of interesting topics, and good TA's in medical micro. Good class for pre-med too.

Goes off on tangents but is a hilarious and helpful instructor. She definitely knows her stuff and then some (though she does have a tendency to say "uhhh" a little too much... just learn to ignore it or else it'll drive you nuts!)

hates cell phones, better not own one. very interesting, can get boring. she talks too much about stuff not related to class.
