Dr. Mouti is a dedicated and helpful instructor. He tried his best to respond to students' questions during OH and on Discord (which is really a luxury). He expects students to have a solid understanding of 120AB + 160A prior to 160B but he did a lot to help throughout the process. Exams are indeed very very intense (long but not too bad).

I have nothing bad to say about Professor Mouti. He is professional and knowledgeable and gives many ways to make up for poor performance like extra credit questions on exams that he gave on homework. Exams are not easy but not too difficult either. He hints on what he expects from us on exams if you follow closely.

A really dedicated and great professor. His exams and homework questions are pretty hard and requires you to know super clearly about the definitions. He is really helpful during office hours and good at explaining the conceptual stuff clearly.

This is the second class I've taken with professor Mouti and although PSTAT 126 was a lot easier with him than PSTAT 120B, it was still dreadful. He's a bad lecturer and there are usually random mistakes in his slides. Tests are very difficult. The positive is 40+% of your grade is a project that is pretty easy.

I took him three times and failed all his classes. He pretends to care about students but gives tests that no one has any clue how to do. I studied the most I have ever studied for an exam and stared at the exam like an idiot because it was something that we never covered in class or in homework.

Mouti was highly dedicated to the learning experience of students in the class. It was probably Mouti's first time running 160B, but I would say it was a success. Small class size means quality of education. The six-member class allowed me to shout out the questions when it popped up. Homework was helpful and exams were of reasonable difficulty.

Hard midterm, insanely curved, lengthy group project with somewhat vague instructions. He is not the worst but 126 has concepts that are hard to grasp and I would recommend taking someone else if proofs aren't your thing (a lot of those show up on the exam.)

If you have actually think Mouti is an unreasonable or excessively tough professor, you are too dumb for statistics, switch to media studies. The exam is medium difficulty with an insane curve and a retake option. Always available and willing to help over email, nectir, and office hours for any question. If you care, he will care about you.

Okay, I agree that he is super nice and is almost always available after class on discord, but he really makes many things too complicated. There were a lot of challenging homework each week, and his final exam was so difficult that the curve at the end almost became a joke. Don't take 120B with him unless the other option is Prof. Ravat.

Well, Professor Mouti made this course too easy to make me feel a bit of challenge. He tried very, very hard to convince his students that the course is challenging, but I didn't want to admit that's a college level course.

Professor Mouti is an incredibly tough teacher and is not very understanding. Every quiz and test felt like a struggle. He gave us a practice final and then never gave us the answers to the final. He isn't a bad teacher but it feels like he doesn't care about his students succeeding in the class.

Dr. Mouti is definitely a hard professor, however, his class is very passable. He offers a lot of extra credit (not always easy extra credit, but weekly and not needed to pass). His lectures are confusing and packed full of information. He is very helpful outside of class, but the material itself is difficult on its own regardless of his teaching.

I want to thank the real professor of this term Ethan Marzaban as Mouti did not act as a professor. Mouti is disorganized, does not teach, and gives questions far above the scope of the course making it incredibly difficult to study for the course. Mouti as a professor just makes the content more confusing than actually helping his students learn.

He is always trying to teach a lot of things to his students, which seems like impossible knowledge to absorb.I don't think he should continue teaching. His classes are so unfair compared to other teachers, and I don't understand why he gives such difficult exams. He should think about what his students will face if they FAIL the class.

One of the best instructors I've ever had. Very knowledgeable of the subjects he instructs + provides all types of help to make sure you get good grades and pass the class with a good understanding of the material. Strongly Recommend his classes (I took two).

Super difficult and dull

Homework every week, 4 quizzes and one final. Load is heavy but doable. Lectures follow the textbook closely, so reading in advance help. The class is more theoretical than expected, but the lecture notes are detailed. He seems to care about his students and offers many ways to do well. I think negative comments are quite unfair to him.

His lectures are kinda mid but he gives several examples for each topic and he also goes over the proof of each concept. Homework is graded on completion, there are several quizzes and a final, the quizzes are ok if you pay attention and do some studying.

He make this course become extremely hard.

He does not expect student do well in his quiz or exam. Never take his course

Just avoid at all cost cuz he just throws materials and questions to you without any valid explanation, the A I got is exclusively attributed to self tutoring and has nothing to do with his instruction, attending lectures is a waste of time.

He give every lecture like a review assuming everybody is genius who should already be super familiar with the new topics. Be prepared to teach yourself! You can have a better education on Youtube!

Professor Mouti is a kind and caring professor that really cares about his students. Although the lecture material was sometimes confusing, he gives many extra credit opportunities and is extremely accessible outside of class, whether it be in office hours or on discord. Overall, he really helped grasp the material.

Professor Mouti was a very good professor. While he went through examples in lecture very quickly, he answered any questions that we had about the lecture content and he always made concepts clear if you asked for help. He was always available outside of class hours on discord and held office hours often. It was a very hard class, but manageable.
